Connecticut school massacre

No-- the principal, asst. principal and sch psych were having a meeting when he broke the window on the door to get in.

I heard on the news that someone saw broken glass and they called 911 . Thanks for clearing this up.

I don't want to talk about it, I don't want to think about it, it's too horrifying.

it something that happened and not talking and thinking about it negates the pain and horror that happened...you have to talk and think about prevent another school shooting....Columbine Dumblain and others.
America got alot to think about re gun, laws, police at schools, secruity etc.
maybe the whole world can learn lessons how to spot social/pyspaths and what to do with them before dreadful things like this happen again

As I read the news about the tragedy repeatedly today, I cried. My 18 yrs old daughter asked why I cried so I told her that it's breaking my heart. She thought that it was funny but I said it was not. I told her if she was one of those dead children, I would go VEERRYY CRAZY. God bless those innocent children and their parents/family/friends.

I hate to say this but I would bring your daughter to a psychologist asap . Laughing at this is not a normal response !

That is just what people did about the Holocaust , no one did anything about it until over 6 millions people where killed! Pretending nothing happen is not going to keep this from happening again. Something has to been done so the wrong people do not get their hands on guns.

You misunderstood big time! She was thinking that I was being too sensitive. She was not laughing at dead children! I demand that you delete that comment right now and I will delete this afterwards.

Mark Kelly, @ShuttleCDRKelly, "20 - 5 year olds gunned down in their own classroom. When will we address this problem as a nation? The time is now!"

There are a number of Americans asking us to think and talk about these events. I hope that we can do so in a civil manner.

I live in the Wild West :). Not too many people know that Wyatt Earp was a deputy sheriff in one of the Idaho border counties after the shoot-out at O.K. Corral. I should say that I've been to Eagle, Idaho, where he was posted, a number of times. It doesn't really exist any more and can't even be honestly called a ghost town.

I don't think that you should cuss at her because it will make much worse, especially endless attack and banning.

Just correct the misunderstood in civil matter.

I just edited it. Can you edit my quote if you don't mind? OK? Thanks.

I got pissed off because I felt offended. I don't like when she talked about my daughter like that.

If it's not guns...then there are bombs, knives, poison's, etc. Remembering Waco...

Seems the guns belonged to the shooter's Mother?...

What are they gonna propose now?....People being denied a gun permit because one of their family members in the home, even within their family tree.... has mental illness, personality disorder, etc., etc.?

I think that they should be denied if at least one family member living at home has psychological problems, drug problems and/or criminal records because the member lives there so he/she can somehow get the gun just like this tragedy. Maybe it will be talked about at Congress. What about owners/family member who will unexpectedly go nuts later in their life? That's tough and unpredictable. Remember Aurora shooting, the mass murderer was a legal gun owner with a clean record if I am correct.

I think NRA will aggressively oppose to those proposal.

I hope not. Now it's time for them to accept the change since it's getting worse and worse. Have they no respect for innocent children?

As tragic as this is, trying to figure out ways to prevent tragedies like it from happening again is a useless waste of time. You can't, those guns didnt kill those kids, a crazy man did. You cannot predict what crazy people are going to do, that has always been the problem, will always be the problem. But locking people up isn't the solution either. Even asking for a police man to be on duty at every school every day all day is not just ridiculous, it's not feasible. In more urban areas where there is a lot of violence and crime, sure, they're already doing that. But in most places that would be a collosal waste of tax payer money. The chances of this happening is so small.

I'm saying this and I'm not even a gun fan! My 19 year old stepson was arrested on tuesday and faces felony charges of reckless conduct. Last weekend he accidently shot his bestfriend in the leg with a 45. When they wrote the 2nd ammendment what kind of arms did they have then? Do you really think they'd have imagined the kinds of guns we have today? But again, the guns aren't the problem, the people are the problem. You mourn, you move on.

It is tragic that these things will happen again.

And, it is not just here. The Dumblain shooting that caz12 mentioned, was in Scotland. We just all need to work on this. Parents, teachers, citizens.

There was a knifing of children in China yesterday. The crazy guy hurt 22 school kids there.

NRA is quiet about CT school shooting occurred and they don't made any comment.

I believe that NRA favor gun manufacturer's interest rather than gun owners, also they opposed to federal background check when passed in 1994.

I don't think NRA will change anything so they are extreme pro-gun organization.

I just need to say....my phone helped me type that, it's stoopid not me. I dont even want to try to fix that with me phone....later when I get home Ill edit that mess lol.

I am sure that you may already hear by now that the witnesses said the shooter shot or smashed the glass of the front door to get in. Don't jump to conclusions next time. OK? That's an order!

BTW, Pres. Obama said it well. Our hearts are broken today.

you missed the point. there's a reason why I said it. and also the term "blaming rampage".

As you said "most", that's correct but what can we say about the rest of the victims killed by legal gun owners with a clean record who became murderers later in life?
lately.... it's police officers who became murderers.

To tell you the truth, I had a deaf friend who owns or owned a gun legally and I usually was afraid of him because of that and God only knows that he might get hot-tempered and kill me with his legally-owned gun.

In other words, people are unpredictable no matter what.
so get a gun then.

Having a gun makes you feel powerful. That's true, right?
me? no. I'm no Zimmerman.
