I said that I wouldn't put it past him that he can be sleep deprived.
Pure speculation.

I only say 3 days for the poster I was talking about so we can get an insight.
It's not an insight if it didn't happen.

Being a president = work 24/7 constantly. You're never off. Really - I think many many people underestimate how busy the guy is. He's all over the place, giving interviews, giving presentations, making crucial decisions, and many other things. He's still a human after all. There really is no need to get all over him on such triviality. At least we all KNOW he has the smarts to be a president. Let's take it easy.
That's funny. Former President Bush had the same schedule and no one gave him a pass for gaffes.

And no, we all don't "KNOW he has the smarts to be a president." I don't know any such thing. I haven't seen any proof to back up that statement.

Bush and Obama has had their "gaffes".... They both were/are Presidents. That tells you something.

Now I think about it... In my best memory - Clinton has had his gaffes, oh how about Reagan?? It's perfectly normal. Why do the "normal" people of America jump all over it.

Reagan was known for his gaffes and yet he was one of the best presidents....

I'm out of this thread. Too trivial for me to even pay attention to.

Have fun talking about small things.

Please tell your dad that I thank him for his service to our country. :ty:

Yup, I will tell him about what you said, thanks.

I cannot believe about Heath was assume about me for not being part of military family, even not asked me if he want to know so I'm part of military family due my father.

Beside military, US president has deal with economy, fiscal, social, transportation, terrorist issue, education, crime safety and many thing so pretty much jobs but military is part of important role because we are still in 2 wars and haven't over after Bush term expires.

Foxrac, you do not understand the significance of what the CinC's decisions have an enormous impact on military families.

You are not from the military world because if you were then you would understand exactly what I am talking about.

There are things that you and me both would understand from being in the Deaf world right ? Nothing else needs to be said because it is natural from being in the Deaf world.

Just as you used to debate about the glbt issues and there are some things I will never understand about the glbt world like you do.

Foxrac, Give it a rest. The CinC was wrong to continue mis-pronouncing things that he should have known two years into his job as the POTUS. I may not agree with Obama but he is still the CinC whether I like it or not. I do respect the CinC title but he certainly does not have my respect, military-wise. I hope you can understand and appreciate that.

I don't know about your family, but my grandfather and my cousins believed that no military or ex-military (including their immediate family; hell, I don't speak ill of Stephen Harper) should be allowed to express dissent against their national leaders; they can hold dissents, but cannot express them. :) ;) And I know a few American Gulf War veterans who moved to Canada for cheap housings share the same views.

Of course, he (my grand-dad) was sort of a hypocrite because he kept quiet about all political affairs-- until Pierre Treadeau's name was brought up, whose he compared to Hitler.

That is because you didn't come across to me, as having a better understanding the facts of the case.

I don't think we ever talked about the military so I thought it sounded like you were non-military. That's why also you spent your time talking about glbt and your obsession about going into bad neighborhoods when I told you there are better and more safe places to live than that.

Obama should have more meetings with the general and stop his animosity towards the military. Bill Clinton should not have pulled out of Somalia that day. Many veterans are very angry about that.

Tell your father I said Thank you too as well for his service.

Remember, I'm not exactly same as 2006, it is very different today.

I'm really don't care about bad neighborhood, however I live with relative in rural area in Alabama so I'm avoid to rent or buy the property in bad neighborhood.

For GLBT rights, I do care about civil issue, such as hate crime and discrimination, not on top priority about marriage, even I'm not strong GLBT supporter as unlike in 2006, despite about being bisexual and unable to change.

I was very liberal during teenager and earlier adult age but not anymore, I'm getting more conservative than before so moderate at overall.

Ok, I will tell him, thanks and I have some families who is in military service too.

If I were President, I wouldn't be able to sleep. I'd have too much on my mind. Sleep deprivation does weird things to a person. We had law review people literally run into each other. Walking zombies! During the bar, I was up for about a week cramming. I didn't drive for several days because of that. When I drove, I zoned out and ran a red light. :-0 Fortunately, I didn't have a wreck. Being a new mom with a constantly nursing newborn was about the same for me. Simple mistakes make me consider lack of sleep. Generally, Americans tend to be a sleep deprived bunch.

Bushisms just for fun:

I like to use "putting food on my family" and "The Google" just for fun.

That is good news. I am not the same person I was few years ago.

If people don't change then how will they grow as a human being ?

Everyone grows at different rates.

Good luck. :thumb:

Reba, about corpsman/corpsmen....when uttering these, don't the singular and the plural sound the same?

I've grown more open minded as I've learned more. I have more facts on which to base my opinions. I know more about how the world works. It can be challenging for me not to become cynical or entrenched as a I age. Working with young people gives me hope. You never hear about the wonderful young people but they are out there.

Pretty close. Singular is slightly more short u sound, and plural is slightly more short i sound. Very subtle difference.

Then you are ahead of our CiC. :giggle:

Wow.
I still sweat to think of that time I had to memorize and recite The Yarn of the Nancy Bell in which the final lines were

"Oh, I am a cook and a captain bold,
And the mate of the Nancy brig,
And a bo'sun tight, and a midshipmite,
And the crew of the captain's gig!"
