that's why I buy and drive only Japanese vehicles
What mileage?I still have XJ, and I don't care about recall or losing value. My XJ is already at the point of where it isn't worth much regardless. But amazing, it still runs strong and don't give us any of single, even tweeny tiny headache at all. Also, we are retiring our XJ from long travel on freeway. So, now XJ stays in city where I live, and other vehicle that I am now using for long trips.
Planning to keep our XJ til we realize our engine or tranny was left 50 miles behind then we will get it to graveyard.

That sounds like a similar use to what was done with a regular pickup truck by the construction company I worked for as bookkeeper for many years. It was kept until it literally could not be fixed. It was more valuable as a backup and perk for employees than what they would have gotten out of it to trade in or sell. I was one of the ones that borrowed it when my car was in the shop or I had something larger to move.

Exactly, a very cheap back up. Can't beat car rental rates. Worth approximately two weeks of car rental cost. Also, prefer use that during snow where they put too much salt, My XJ does have few rust though holes. Not too severe but at least it runs. LOL
Not accurate mileage, approximately 160K and passed 15 years old already.
My xj is 17 years old and 210k roughly. Thing is still a rock. The xj has the same position tank as the grand. So do many other suv.
Long way. 4.0 Inline six cly may last around 300k mileage or more. Inline is almost two times longer than most V types.
Pretty low miles. My Mazda with inline four cyl is only 204k mileage and running smooth and quick.
Yea, they are pretty popular around here. We see lots with 250k 300k and more. Rust usually gets um before they die around here. I use fluid film and it helps a lot.
