War with China is certain death no matter how you look at it. It would make the iraq war resemble kindergarten.

:werd: The only way to beat them is nuclear weapons although I hope they will not be used.

Really hope we can avoid fighting all together :(

Well, I still don't understand WHY it is necessary for President Obama to meet Chinese President to discuss about "global currency" and yet, they want to use that "Kill Weapon" to destroy U.S. Aircraft Carriers ?? It doesn't make sense to me. I've seen there's alot of contradiction goin' on. :ugh:

I am a little bit confused here.

who said they are going to talk about global currency?

Chinese government, shut up!!!

Communist is epic fail and looks at Russia, they used to be USSR in past.

If we decide to ban on trade with China then their economy will collapse and they need dollars to buy oil, if no then they would unable to buy more oil.

who said they are going to talk about global currency?

Well, I was readin' Shel90's thread " One World Currency ". It stated about President Obama who will sit down to have a talk with Chinese President via Russian President about the one world currency. When I done readin' Shel90's orginial post (article) and, then I read this thread here, talkin' about Chinese Develope Special "Kill Weapon" to Destroy U.S. Aircraft Carriers --- I was like, huh ? That doesn't make sense to me, because it is about China where President Obama will have a talk with Chinese President about the "one world currency" and now, the next thing, about "kill weapon" to destroy U.S. aircraft carriers. It conflicts. It doesn't sound like a truce to me and how can President Obama and Chinese President have their talk on one world currency issue, if there's no peace in between them ? That's one thing I don't understand. :-|

don't worry - nobody's going to do global currency.

I don't think you get it. I am talkin' about President Obama and Chinese President were meetin' each other and, yet the Chinese use "kill weapon" to destroy U.S. aircraft carriers. Do you understand what I am sayin' ?

IF, they do that, then the President Obama and Chinese President shouldn't have their meetin' in the first place.

I hope people would lay off with the "Chinese mean serious business and they want to kill you" crap. I mean I see why, because they developed just one tiny missile. We as the US of A have more arsenal to our advantage than what they just made..

How do you know the Chinese intend to destroy US warships? Do you really trust the words of a blogger?
Why is China's Communism bad? Did you really open the book to see what it actually is like?

*shocker* If you don't know, China's loosely incorporating the concepts of western democratization.. That's right.. Just because it says "COMMUNIST" on the book, admit you didn't read it..

*Disclaimer: This is aimed at no one in the thread, but everyone who reads.

that's when you go to meet and negotiate.... to make peace with each other.

Ehhh, so, what? Our finest United States Navy's nuclear-powered aircraft carriers are heavily defended and has several of deadly remote gatling guns.

One "tiny" missile?

Are you referring to the USNI as a blogger? USNI and their magazine Proceedings are highly respected sources in the naval warfare community.

True so enough.

There's only problem is US don't have military ally with China, if they did and it could help to reduce of tension when work in cooperate.

Chinese president don't have much anything with this situation but Chinese military are controlled by other person.

Just saying tiny in the form that it's riling everyone up to the point that they think the intention of the missile creation is to "Destroy USA Naval ships", while I feel otherwise.
Although the USA may be one of the targets in the list, it can't be the only one; and it most likely isn't the reason for creation of the "East Wind" (Dong Feng) ASBM.

No, not the USNI as a blog. I know better than that. I am saying that the USNI's source of this info comes from:

USNI said:
First posted on a Chinese blog viewed as credible by military analysts and then translated by the naval affairs blog Information Dissemination ( Information Dissemination: PLAN ASBM development ) , a recent report provides a description of an anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) that can strike carriers and other U.S. vessels at a range of 2000km.

When you go here, USNI's source for this information, take note of the intelligence they gathered.
Information Dissemination: PLAN ASBM development

Look at where Information Dissemination then gets its source:

It goes to a personal blog of some guy called Chiu Zheng-Wei, which seems to be nothing more than an individual's blog of his thoughts about the motherland country.
Even in the subject of the whole post it says: "This discussion here is made for everyone to pile their opinion about and reprints are welcomed". I have no idea why he would post his name for the public world to see, if he was in the military. Although false ID is another story.

Huanqiu.com is like a portal news site + blog site combined. It's like yahoo.com with a Digg.com section.

That's the person I am referring to as the blogger. Do you trust his words?

This seems (to me, my opinion) that the hearsay of Chinese non-military citizens (or military fanatics) were then made into fact by the USA blog and then reposted by USA military sources for everyone else to read; getting the assumption that "Ok China, get ready to kill US carriers!"

Some chinese military officials are probably scoffing and joking over it with another.

Next piece of blog evidence:

Basically to sum it up, Mr. Chiu took bits of known specifications about the "Wind of the East" ASBM, once again, then cut out pieces of the data, analyzed it, added his opinion about it.

He then added the USA naval stuff comparing it for the rest of the public to know how strong or capable it is, missile mechanics and flight patterns, detectability, and so on. Basically said it's like "Look, this thing can take out those new US carriers without even trying!"

If you want to see a crappy translated version of his text; the grammar isn't that great but its probably enough for you to get his points, here you go:

Whomever in the US intelligence that translated this information went one too serious.. I'm not saying it shouldn't be heeded, but it's being made more of a fuss about just because they translated it incorrectly.

Now people are all getting the idea "China's evil! Destructive missiles! Oh, my!"
After digging around on this blog. Further evidence backs up my original statement about this author isn't meant to be taken too seriously.
I have done the favor of translating his "blog" internet bio for you, here it is:

Even some of the guests in his comments sections for both his blog and the article express some form of disinterest.. Yeah, a 28 year old guy sure can cause some damage.

I hope people may stand corrected establishing the information I have brought to you.
Isn't it interesting how such a development went straight past the noses of the US spy satellites and the such? We spend so much on such technology that puts us at superiority.

Off-topic - Chinese seems like a very complicated language. I have heard that there are over a couple thousand characters in the chinese alphabet, compared to only 26 letters in the American English alphabet.
