California Illegal Alien At DMV: ‘Nobody’s Passing’ Written Test

They shouldn't get job if they don't know how to read and write.

Say what?...I knew this deaf guy that could not read or write very well, knew very little ASL...everything you said had to be "very simple"....but he could tear a car engine out and put it all back together...also worked on the Naval Base in upholstery.

Right, as long as a job doesn't require reading and/or writing skills. Dishwasher, lawnmower, mechanic, factory worker, painter, etc.

Foxrac is a funny guy as usual.

Without writing and reading skill, communication isn't effective, also they don't know how to make a resume.

They should go to adult school to learn how to read and write.

My statement isn't joke, anyway.

Well, their problem is not your problem. You should be glad. :cool2:

Anyway, at my workplace, two deaf guys from Mexico and Morocco are both illiterate and yet they got jobs there through VR (written exam not required). Nobody complained.

No, it is part of our problem and we have deal with communication barrier.

Hearing guy who don't know how to read and write and I cannot use oral language, so communicate between us are totally useless, except for some gestures that they understand.

Most employers won't hire anyone who don't know to read and write nowadays.

You are not required to communicate with a hearing co-worker who is illiterate if that's what you talked about. As you may know, some hearing co-workers would complain about the communication issue with you because you can't speak and/or hear. How do you feel about that?

I'm curious, how do those two guys communicate with co-workers and supervisors on a daily basis?

EXACTLY!!!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexican_nationality_law (noticed speaking Spanish is REQUIRED)

Americans who don't speak and write Spanish cannot buy properties in Mexico. So they go to Costa Rica which allowed them. And illegally Americans arrested in Mexico are deported back to the US.

Wait, leftwing liberals don't care since they don't want to offend a major DNC voting bloc.

Amazingly we speak English in this country and illegals from all over the globe living in CA are expected to pass the same exam. Maybe we should follow Mexico's example...oh no, wait, Mexico doesn't allow illegals living in their country to drive or apply for social services....

I knew a guy that was from Guatemala and he could not read or write English but he could speak enough to communicate to people.

Gestures when necessary. Sign "time" means hurry up or stop talking and work. Pointing a finger to an area means go there. Thumbs up means good or okay. Hand moved across the throat means done and so on. The jobs on the workfloor require very little communication.

No, your statement wasn't true and I was forced to communicate with hearing co-worker who is illiterate as possible and there were no around to get away from him.

I'm profoundly deaf and unable to use oral language at all, but ADA guaranteed me that I have accessible to different communication method, such as interpreters, writing or typing.

Hearing people who don't know how to read and write aren't protected under ADA unless they have disabilities that impair with read and write.

Today, employers are more consideration about hire workers and having an education background is #1 priority for job.

Not all of them understand the gesture.

It is not effective.

That's not true - the communication is very important for job safety and efficiency.

It is better to use "libtard".

Of course, Mexican government that complained about strict immigration law in Arizona is full of hypocritical.

I got heavily backfired from minorities, especially Latino at Gallaudet due to my political view and I don't believe that illegal immigrants should stay in US.

LOL, those deaf guys from other countries had no educational backgrounds and they were hired by USPS through vocational rehabilitation because they couldn't understand the questions on the exam since they couldn't read. At work, the gestures are very basic. No problem so far.

We have weekly safety talks via VRI.

Forced? *scratch my head* What kind of job was it?

If the test taker can't read, I wonder if they'll offer it in spoken Spanish? :hmm:

I have no idea but if you take a smog inspector/or smog technician license. All the exams are English language, should be same as DMV exams.....:dunno:
