Bush is a dumb ass hence his well known name - DUBYA

:laugh2: yeah he is since he thinks he knows everything but yet he doesn't anyways

Hiya, Bush-in-94....to quench the thirst of your curiosity, I don't think I have; but then again, I am somewhat new here....although I was/am not a Clinton admirer, I think it would behoove me to send the same kind of message to ppl who say the same kinds of things about him, in spite of my natural recitude to do so---however, with a dearth of Clinton-bashers on this particular board, I'm grateful the occasion won't arise too often....LOL Politicians are politicians, no matter their stripe.....I don't always follow the party line but I am generally a Republican and fairly conservative in my views.
Btw, nice to meet you....

To "donning my flame-proof suit" usi

Bush-In-94--I see you are relatively new here, too...did you migrate here from another forum?

 I read a newspaper article the other day similiar to the one that started this thread and it mentioned about the supreme court allowing "homosexual sex activity" and before the supreme court the opinion of the public towards gay I think I forgot the specific question but it was like 60% in favor of gay/lesbians and 40% against.... BUT when the supreme court ruled on it..... it changed.. it was like 47% in favor and 50% against I might be wrong with the numbers... *from gallup poll* again the gallup poll does not represent everyone though.

Cricket...hi, there......I cannot attest to your numbers but I think we all need to be reminded about the distinction between same sex sexual activity and the legalization of marriage between two persons of the same gender.....just a friendly reminder.....:D

Well, I'm conservative. Not that I am NOT against homosexuality, however, ones are entitled to their opinion. I think there should be another word for "marriage" that explictly refers to homosexual commitment as opposed to "marriage" reference to heterosexual commitment. So that would be a way for us to differnate the difference between those "lifetime commitments."

why in the world would anybody need to know the exact details behind any couple's "lifetime commitments?" what would you do with that information? how would it help society? please help us understand.

In cultural point of view, that enables us to identify the family values of their beliefs. That allows us the ability to determine whomever we want to socialize. For example, in conservative Christian world, like sex marriage would encounter heavy criticism and would result into unnecessary debate or violence amongst them. If my mom (conservative Christian to the extreme) found out that I am committed to other guy, she will quarrel like forever that "Marriage" was created by God for a man and women. I would easily use that new vocabulary to keep her away from the "Marriage" controversy perfectly legalized by the law to avoid furtherance of the violence amongst us.

interesting point linus.

one would argue that in your case its the problem of the person who is a conservative christian, not the people getting "married." but I see your point since it is a sort of a solution for dealing with "troublesome" people.

But it could backfire though. the conservative crowd could use the new vocabulary as a rally cry to rejunivate themselves. look what happened with "partial birth abortions". This procedure was always done, but only after anti-abortionists go ahold of the term did it become a rallying point.

You think Bush is a waste of a human life, you should see our Prime Minister, of Australia....this is where I stop because I don't have anything nice to say about our Prime Mini-star!

Yeah, I agree with you...I think Howard's been brown nosing with Bush and Blair...hoping that he siding with them will win Australia's votes for his next term as PM.

aside from the brown nosing, can you share a few examples of what Australia's PM did to warrant un-nice comments. I'm curious what goes on down under.

Something for you all to sign for Bush to read!!

I got this from an email and this is what you can spread the word around until Bush gets the word that American citizens feels that the Gay American citizens needs to have their Human Rights treated just as equally as the Heterosexual Americans.

http://www.hrcactioncenter.org/campaign/marriage_amendment_oppose

It is now time to consider GLBI rights just as "human rights", their rights have been trampled on for too long!!

freaky, nice effort but the majority of voters who put bush in office won't support the gay marriage thing. bush wants to get reelected in 2004. I'd be surprised if bush changes his mind before the election. what we CAN do is bring in a democratic president in 2004.

You can decide and judge for yourself by going to his site: John Howard: Prime Minister

And to: Ninemsn

Give me a few days to collect a few examples out of newspapers, etc. I don't normally follow much about politics, I just KNOW that Howard brown noses to try to look impressionable in Australia's eyes by following suit as Bush and Blair did during the Iraq crisis. Not a lot of Australians were happy about the PM deciding on sending convoys of Australian army to Iraq and to Persian Gulf recently, just for protection purposes for other countries.

In 1996, President Clinton (news - web sites) signed the Defense of Marriage Act, which denied federal recognition of same-sex marriages and allowed states to ignore same-sex unions licensed elsewhere. Bush's aides have said they are studying ways to strengthen the law.

John Howard, Australia's Prime Minister has recently announced that he isn't against gays and lesbians, but believes that marriage is solely for the commitment between a man and a woman as he fears for the 'survival' of the human species if the marriage law was rectified to allow gays and lesbians to get married.

What a joke! Why? Because a lot of gay and lesbian couples have kids and raise them. Howard was afraid if gay marriage was allowed, the human species would be threatened to become 'extinct'.

What if Bush's twin daughter, Jenna, wants to get married to her female lover? From what I heard, she is a bisexual Texan.

We do not need arrogrant, cheating Bush Brothers (George and Jeb). They are downright cheaters and liars.

I don't care if homosexual couples want to get married, let them be happy and get married. They do want to have same rights as hetrosexual couple do. ;)
