Wooden floor can burn . I had a client that kept his toaster under his kitchen cabinet and the toaster almost started a fire by getting the cabinet hot. The cabinet had a black spot from the heat of the toaster .

Nope, it doesn't. Like I said, it's only temporary, and no fees or dues need be paid-- the peoe who manage where I currently live will handle that
 
Last year my heating system was going bad. I smelled gas, called the property management, they called the gas company who came out to check it. It was turned off and repaired the same day. It lasted a couple weeks, started leaking gas again, same thing happened except this time they said it had to be replaced. It was just on the edge of too cold to be without heat, it was just around 50 degrees and we stayed in a hotel for about four days. We talked with the property management and told them that we're not paying for the hotel, we'll give them the hotel receipts and take that much off the rent. We did that because the owner was told that he has to replace the system even though they were able to get it working the first time and he procrastinated, hoping to get to spring and wait until next fall to repair it. He was pissed, but we were not going to pay for his mistake.

Good tip for me if I should ever move into property owned by somebody, and I can use this tip

You would have to check renting guidelines put out by your state to see what you can legally do. We could do it because he had been warned and told to replace it and he didn't do it. His actions are what put us in the hotel for four days, his responsibility to shoulder the cost.

Yes, I should read up on that. Plus, the City of Chicago is cracking down on lazy property management who want to save a few bucks here and there instead of actually getting the part or equipment fixed.

Update: I am attempting to find out if the broken furnace has been repaired or not. If it hasn't, then a change of clothes and some personal needs are in order. Probably gonna need to collect some clothes and toss them in a suitcase or something.

My concern is that if they have to replace it, it's gonna cost between $10K to $20K to replace an entire furnace system.
 
New update: Repairs were successful. Yay!! Back home this morning. Hopefully there won't be a Part III here.

7 bedrooms
3 bathrooms
1 kitchen
1 living room
1 office
1 laundry room
1 back room
1 furnace room (picture coming soon)

Ooops. that's 16. My bad.
