Please don't get me wrong but I am trying to express my post here in general way what I think or what I suspect.
Yes I know it's tough jobs for the parents to help their children's develop to see the sense of right and wrong. Yes I know kids do a lot of stupid things but 12 years old should know better. It doesn't matter how much damage cost but it's just pain disrespectful to press a piece of gum on the art pictures... Can you image if it was a Van Gogh or a Picasse? :Ohno:
I'm furniture restorer and have some art on it... My children show their respect to not touch things ... or not vandalized... We have pretty value items and many value photo frames collecting, pictures etc open in the closet, art pictures, porezallen and restoration things.... My children likes to lecture their friends when they look around my house because I restore them with my own hands...
I noticed some of posts saying that it's art gallery responsibly. I'm disagree to this... why? They have rules then everyone should respect/obey to. How do you feel if you are being "stalk" by security guards when you bring your kids to the museum?
Honestly, I'm nearly faint after read the link from other forum because 12 years old definitely knows better than to press chewing gum anywhere. It makes me think that his behavior shown the same at his home as public? It's vandalism what he did! It's wrong to destroy the property of owners, no matter either value or not. It's not accident but purposely.
It's just my suggestion since some of your posts mentioned that some kids really doesn't know how much art painting worth. I think if you want kids to appreciate something then take them to museums or show them value things in your house. I began to notice some kids really never been exposed to anything but the school trips are only one exposure they get. It's sad...
