Beatdown of transgendered in Baltimore, MD McDonalds

No. Like laws against assault, murder, vandalism, arson, lynching, rape, etc.

And assualt, murder, vandalism, arson, lynching, and rape that meets the qualifications of a hate crime and would never have occurred had hate not been used as an excuse to commit the crime.

There is no excuse for committing the crime.

Do you think people would be excused of their crimes if it weren't for hate crime legislation?

Exactly. And hate is the poorest excuse of all. Which is why hate crimes carry additional penalites.

Um, there is no law against poor excuses.

Defendants are judged guilty or not guilty, period. There is no "more guilty" or "less guilty" or "guilty plus lame excuse."

There are no "good" excuses or "poor" excuses. There are NO excuses, period.

None of the excuses that defendants create are acceptable.

Just so you know - Nazi war criminals were not tried for "hate crimes." They were tried for what they did, not for what they thought.

"The indictments concerned four counts. All defendants were indicted on at least two of the counts; several were indicted on all four counts. Count One, "conspiracy to wage aggressive war," addressed crimes committed before the war began. Count Two, "waging an aggressive war (or "crimes against peace"), addressed the undertaking of war in violation of international treaties and assurances. Count Three, "war crimes," addressed more traditional violations of the laws of war such as the killing or mistreatment of prisoners of war and the use of outlawed weapons. Count Four, "crimes against humanity," addressed crimes committed against Jews, ethnic minorities, the physically and mentally disabled, civilians in occupied countries, and other persons. The greatest of these crimes against humanity was, of course, the mass murder of Jews in concentration camps--the so-called "Final Solution." For an entire day, defendants listened as prosecutors read a detailed list of the crimes they stood accused of committing. "

Having been an abused woman, and assaulting you abuser is by far, a better excuse than the color of someone's skin or their sexual preference.

Uh, I really don't need a history lesson on Nazi war crimes from you. I am very well versed on the topic, especially given that I had several relatives die in the ovens. And, as usual, you read my post with the bias of making it mean what you want it to.

True. I've been stuck in those lines a time or two!:giggle:
Went to DC with my daughter's Girl Scout troop for one of the big anniversaries of Girl Scouting so the place was mobbed with girls. Near the Lincoln Memorial, we shared the mens bathroom. Of course, we didn't make the men wait too long for their turn. As soon as a guy showed up, we had him wait until all the girls were out and then let him/them in.

I know I've used "men's" bathrooms (single toilet/sink) when I've really had to go...but you know how messy men can be...:giggle:

I gotcha! That is when it is good to have a friend with you, and you can play the "Hey, watch the door for me, and then I'll watch it for you" game!

Actually, a few men cannot stand how messy the men's bathrooms are. Upon entering a women's bathroom in a park, I saw a man coming out of the same bathroom (which was empty). He said to me "I am so sorry, I double checked to see if there's any women in here so that I can go in. The men's bathroom is just so disgusting!!!"

Don't matters, we don't have to deal about gender issues for transsexual people to use whichever restroom is suitable for them.

Some places in here have family restroom, that what I like a lot.

Ever priced your single bathroom option????

And those great are for me

I would fall into the asexual category. But I'm also Gender free (means I dont into feel like either male or female)
and in a chair

Did the multi unisex bathroom include urinals?

Will men put up with waiting in lines the way women do?

Dont no

Wrong in that you failed to note that degree of the offense determines time served. If someone beat another severely enough to cause permanent disability, they would not be charged with simple assault.

which is good

Newest update is that Chrissy Polis met up with Vicky Thoms, the lady rescuer and they were given a short moment of interview on TV news. They hugged each other and some people called Chrissy hawt.

Vicky's on facebook too. :thumb:

If you are so well versed about the Nazi war crimes trials, then why did you bring up hate crimes and murder in reference to them? You knew it was an irrelevant comparison, yet you brought it up.

Now what are you talking about?

I read it that she said she was either abused and had the experience of how it felt, or that someone being abused and fighting back their abuser is better than being a victim of hate crime? English is a double edged sword at times.

I understood the English; it's the reasoning I don't follow. :)

WHAT????
I read it to be "Punish the action, not the person."
Sounds tough to do, if truth be told.

Yeah, I got that, but I'm still puzzled if jillio meant she was the abused or she just means someone in general. The start of the sentence "Having been" can refer to the speaker in past tense!

Go back and read the post I made, in relation to the previous several posts. My intent and meaning was obvious.
