We all discriminate. "Discriminate" means to note the differences. Nothing illegal about discrimination per se but how we use that discrimination against other people.

Incorrect. the SECOND definition of discrimination is noting differences. The FIRST definition of discrimination which most people think of when they hear the word is

dis·crim·i·na·tion
disˌkriməˈnāSHən/Submit
noun
1.
the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, esp. on the grounds of race, age, or sex.

Unjust treatment. It is unjust to discriminate against someone based on Sex. Since same sex relationships legally follow under sexual discrimination... unjust treatment based on sex. Poof.

Sex discrimination also can involve treating someone less favorably because of his or her connection with an organization or group that is generally associated with people of a certain sex.

Discrimination against an individual because that person is transgender is discrimination because of sex in violation of Title VII. This is also known as gender identity discrimination. In addition, lesbian, gay, and bisexual individuals may bring sex discrimination claims. These may include, for example, allegations of sexual harassment or other kinds of sex discrimination, such as adverse actions taken because of the person's non-conformance with sex-stereotypes.

Poof. again.

Yes, there were many gay people suffered from discrimination for many years.

I support Oregon Equality Act of 2007 and the law protect LGBT people from denied to enter the public accommodations, but I do not believe this law protect gay couples from getting denied the request for wedding cake. The court will going rule it out.

Yes, I want equal rights, not special treatment.

that would be against the concept of American freedom.

if you have your own business... would you like to be forced to provide service to people who are full of hate and are aggressively against LGBT?

I think it's still BS about being denied to make a cake because you're gay. Just the same if a black person and white person were to walk into a bakery and ask for a cake because they were getting married. If they denied them a cake, OH LAWDY we'd have every damn person all over that shiz in a SECOND! Just a point I'm trying to prove. I do believe a lot of gay couples can be a little cry baby about this kind of stuff, but I do believe it is wrong still... Just my personal opinion. Love is love, I'd bake anyone a cake! It would taste great! But probably wouldn't look to appealing... =/

That's not what I was talking - it isn't related to wedding cake or products.

I want equal rights in government and businesses (especially public accommodation).

For government, I want to get married to my partner. For business, I want to enter the place for shopping without getting kicked out because of sex orientation or disabilities.

PREACH IT TO THEM FOX! *shakes uncontrollably like on the Jesus power network* lol!

What about people who are full of love and forgiveness that are aggressively against same sex marriage because it isn't a marriage?

I have serve to customers, regardless on belief and it is not my thing to turn them away because of different belief or philosophy, unless they become aggressive or bad conduct (behavior).

If they are peaceful and civil matter, it isn't issue.

So ... theoretically, I could go into a Jewish deli in New York and demand that they make me a ham sandwich? And .. serve it with an un kosher dill pickle? After all, I am an equal paying customer just like everybody else.

you said "equal rights" in businesses... then I am asking you a business-related question.

would you provide service to hateful people who are strongly against your belief?

ah. then you would even serve to anybody even if they're very hateful of your belief like Klu Klux Klan member.

well then you're a very forgiving open-minded individual. something that this baker should take a lesson from :)

No, that's not what I was talking.

I welcome customers, regardless on belief, to shopping or request the service that is based on availability. If they ask Jewish deli to make 20 chicken sandwich that is available, according to menu and if they don't serve ham so it is not discrimination.

If customers want me to make anti-gay cake so I will likely to reject the request, that's not discrimination. If they request Mickey Mouse cake for their child's birthday, I will happily to grant the request.

You seems have trouble to understand about what I am saying. The anti-discrimination law that protect sex orientation that usually cover the public accommodation, employee, housing, public school, prison, etc. It doesn't cover on products like wedding, ham, chicken, egg, etc. The sex orientation cover gay, lesbian, straight and bisexual.

See #212.

I'm going to bed now. Good night to all of you. :D

Suppose my family and I want to dine out and we come across an Indian cuisine restaurant (I LOVE Indian cuisine btw). Just for argument's sake, let us suppose that the owners are avowed "orthodox" Hindus.

So, when my family sits down and we are ready to order, I demand a beef cattle steak. I want an 8 oz. sirloin.. medium rare.

When the owner refuses, and says it is against their religious beliefs to serve beef cattle, I then get all of my beef eating friends together and we decide to run this business into the ground, and use the DoJ to do so, since they discriminated against my religion (I can eat beef cattle).

I can do that now ... thank you homosexuals ... YAY!

but... that wouldn't make any sense.

if a restaurant doesn't serve beef (which would means the beef's certainly not in the menu).... then why would you go there in the first place? it's like going to a vegetarian restaurant and demand that they serve meat.

a very flawed argument.

You will be coward like some people, including lesbian couples who request the wedding cake from Christian owned business who don't believe in gay marriage.

Re-read #212 - I explain very clearly to you.

why will you reject that request?

because it is not my way to disrespect the gay community.

If they really need it so they can go to different bakery. That's no discrimination and the business can deny the request for product, for any reason.

that's exactly what this baker did.

Man, I just want a Jewish deli to serve up some bacon and egg croissants ...
