Bad Cop, No Donut

It was happened to me at 3 years ago... My car was parked on left side far from "my ex-friend" neighbor with my friends and ex-friend after women weekends outing. I got fax from "my ex-friend" on next day telling me that their neighbor's car was damaged and told me that they gave their neighbor my home address. I was mad with them because they gave them my address without get permission from me. Oh Well, they called my local police to have a look at my car. They did but no result of damaged on my car and inform "my ex friend"'s local police station but my local police came on other day telling me that I should drive my car to "my ex friend"'s local police station to have a look... I told my local police that no problem, I drive there on next day. We found out that the neighbor of "my ex-friend" is POLICE...

I thought police would be honest because there're no damage on my car to compare with his severe damage car. His colleagues took pictures of our cars and measured etc. etc. One month later after that I received a result from "my ex friend"'s local police to confirm me that I'm responsible of "hit and run". Neighbor file a lawsuit against me... I'm an innoncent... I cried and cried after learn from police statement that the neighbor have my ex-friend as withness which it affect our friendship total... I has to go to lawyer....

My insurance for legal family protection do not cover for me because of "hit and run" is an illegal. It mean that I have to pay lawyer myself... It's scary because German strict law about "hit and run"... They are supposed to ban my drive liiescne for 6 months and pay high penatly... Lucky is my lawyer fought to have my driving liescne to keep... They agreed at last to not remove my driving liescne and no fine penalty but get my car insurance to cover his damage car... I have to pay everything and plus high car insurance and cancel our holiday plans... Thanks my ex-friend. My lawyer said that she can't do anything because police work together to protect each other... but I should be glad to keep driving liecsne... Neighbor drop his lawsuit against me but want my insurance to cover the cost of his damage car... My Lawyer advised me to agree to this... (true *sigh*).. It's hard for me to forgive my ex-friend after what they have done to me to help their neighbor which they know he's police.... They thought their neighbor would fax me with question and want to look our car but it's not what my ex-friend thought. Their neighbor only want our insurance to cover his damage car... They won't want to do anything with their neighbor and blame them to affect their friendship with us. We haven't speak them for 3 years now... I would forgive them one day but how long, I don't know...

Do you mean your parent are walker? If yes, but it's off duty cop's fault, not your parents... The drivers must watch people walking before they drive.... not blame walkers.

Yes, I aware that all cops are not honest. They are only human like everyone who defend themselves... *sigh*

My car is not damaged... I still have it... I can´t understand because Police must have seen that none of my car is damaged...

Ok I talked to my ex boyfriend who is a police officer, He said that yes, The cops are supposed to protect and serve, in fact they are supposed to protect all citizens to the safely and lives of all people when they are in dangerous. If they get a call and a report is made that someone broke in the house, The police will rush over right away and will do anything to get the victims out of the house first before the crazed gunman.


And about high-speed chases, The police would want to get the vehicle that is on a high-speed chases off the roads for the safely of all people. Sometimes things gone bad when the driver ran into walk-way people and crashed into someone's mail box or house or damaged other vehicles. They want to get this guy off the street and throw in jail.

I can understand how scary you are.

Simple is take police car number and write down what's time and which road the police drive and then report city police department.

Yeah, I was going to report but I didn't.

I really do not need to contact the police department since the police chief or commander only slaps the enfored officer's hand. Anybody must report to the elected commissioners or mayor office that would causes the big noise directly to the entire police department.

You should have reported the damaged car to the local police quicker than your ex-friend's neighbor. It would save your neck rather than spending money on your lawyer's fee. If you do not have auto full coverage insurance, do not contact your insurance firm. You may have to pay more insurance fee soon. Best thing to do before calling your insurance company is to wait for your local police to inform you that it would be determined about hit-and-run case or another.

It is not your fault. If it were me, oh well, I don't need to contact the local police. I will keep in mind that I must contact the local police in order to protect my reputation. I can easily replace the auto part since it is much cheaper than paying the increased high premium insurance rate after informing the insurance company.
