In other words, you have no logical answer. I understand.

It probably wasn't the best idea to shout out after the vote but I can understand the sentiment. The unborn can't shout out for themselves, so sometimes others feel compelled to do it for them.

I can somewhat...

But if the unborn has no chance in surviving and the mother as well. Then their is no voice to be heard.

If the abortion is needed due to the mother or unborn child is at risk of death. Then abortion should be deemed medically needed.

Just as any medical procedure.

Why wait til the mother show up in the ER due to complications, and her life is at risk or the unborn. Which to me seems more costly. Because she could not afford the abortion.

Just to be clear, it was not the Texas governor who did this.

Randy Neugebauer (R-Tex.) identified himself as the member of congress who shouted "baby killer" during Rep. Bart Stupak's (D-Mich.) speech on the floor of the House of Representatives Sunday night.

Randy Neugebauer Revealed As 'Baby Killer' Shouter: Texas Republican Apologizes

Our governor is an embarrassment and has said many stupid things. This was not one of them.

It's times like this that I miss Molly Ivins.

No, I have an answer. I am just politely asking you to stop diverting from the topic of this thread.

Your topic discussion is of the behavior these representatives correct?

If so then this topic has been diverted since post #2.

If not....please tell me what this topic is about?

As for the juvenile behavior of these fully grown men and women (I don't care if it was just one person or a hundred, the way they acted pushing this bill)....sad....

hence.....why I have a bad taste in my mouth from the actions and silly retaliation tactics these Government Representatives has shown.

How are they going to be discliplined? A slap on the wrist?

What is there to do about it?

I love Rick....different worlds I guess. People are moving here in big numbers. Our economy is great compared to others despite the fact we took on a big chunk of the New Orleans population and we take in a sizable number of illegal immigrants. We are in the top 3 richest state yet are 49th in return of federal taxes paid. We must be doing something right.

I will be sending some of my charitable funds to Rep. Neugebauer. No need to contribute to charities anymore since our government is in the charity business.

i just think you're just lucky that Texas isn't dependent on tourism, auto industry, forestry, blueberry export and so on.

The title of the thread explains the topic. And this is just one of several attempts to bring it back to topic.

Low income tax, high property tax in Texas, isn't that right?

No doubt. And there is a very logical reason for those numbers.;)

Stupak and others weren't against all abortions being funded by the bill.

"...Stupak led a group of other anti-abortion Democrats who rejected the bill because they said it would allow federal funding for abortions beyond the current limits of cases of rape, incest or if the mother's life is in danger."

i means is it really a coincidence the Maritimes' economy is rebounding after they decided to do oil rigging recently after a few decades worth of fishery downturn?

Yes, it is. And also, the individual wealth that leads to the number 3 number also receives huge tax breaks lessening the amount of income tax they pay. Corporate welfare.

Perhaps. But that is not what I was referring to.

Actually we have GM plants here. One is about 5 miles from me. We have a pretty diverse economy. Not dependent on any one thing. We were designed well. :)

Should you wish to discuss the diversity of TX economy, there is a feature called "New Thread."
