I'm afraid this is not fake. There have been other cases like this one. It's called Exencephaly. I'm afraid this condition is fatal.

Ohh sound like the baby's brain isnt enough to grow the skull cover the brain. Hope the doctors to fix cover the skull hide from the baby's brain.

There's another condition called Encephalocele. Most don't live or if they do live, they'll be retarded. Let's hope this baby has this otherwise, he'll die and even with Encephalocele, chances are good he'll die. :(

I think so, baby will go die but baby will go to heaven with Lord. I saw their picture it not good sign!

I came back to check on this topic and I was going to forgive A.L. and this added drama is un-necessary. Thank you Reba for doing your best and thank you to the another interpreters too. Thank you to deafskeptic for bringing a name to the medical mystery that was on the video clip. My prayers go out to that family and hope for a miracle and guidance from God for the wise counsel of the doctors as they work with the baby and God Bless that family, somehow.

Yes, I guess it could be Turkey... I wish to know more what the doctor and reporter said in the video. I hope anyone (hearing Turkei) interprete for us.

I will ask my Turkei co-worker if he have time to interprete for us if our suspect over Turkei is correct.

I think not so! It very big challenge!

Yup, I feel bad for this baby.

I guess that need push brain in correct place and add skin graft but isn't enough for baby since butt is too small to get good fit, also supposed to get help from adult for gives skin graft to cover it.

Children with severely mental retardation can successful with life but much of help are from other people to taking care of them.

ewww... was drinking a protein shake while watching that... now I don't feel so good :barf:

Jeebus.

Eating lot of green vegs (especially folic ) would prevent that poor tragedy.

Hate to break it to you, Dr. Noob, but this isn't a case of spina bifida that could be prevented with folic acid during pregnancy. There is no known cause for this condition, so it wasn't the fault of the mother. Some things just happen.

I had the same sentiments as Phillips when I saw the clip, I just wanted to hug that poor little baby.

Ok maybe this condition can't be prevent. Fine. But still it is recommendable for all pregnant women to eat lot of vegs and be on folic diet.

Actually Eve, Kingofnoobs is correct. This baby's condition could have been prevented with some folic acid in the diet. It's a tragedy that was preventable.

Interesting, I wouldn't have been able to know this condition without the helpful information you provide Deafskeptic so Thank you ..Here's another one that I've been reading earlier today...quite interesting too...Health: Folic Acid
