AZ Congresswoman...12 others, shot

She was specifically attacked by name as a cause of the shooting. Should she have ignored that?

Was it necessary to use an anti-semitic phrase?

I have never seen that phrase used for anything but anti-semitic purposes. It's pretty obvious she didn't realize the origin of the phrase. But again, that wouldn't surprise me. Ignorance isn't an excuse though.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Besides, she took the attention away the tragedy by making a long-winded rant video.

I'm sorry, but she is definitely a narcissist who loves any attention possible. Otherwise, she wouldn't have wrote a couple books about herself.

She's just adding fuel to the fire by participating in the politics of this.

It's a sad state of affairs that finger pointing has to occur rather than point at the shooter who alone is solely responsible for the shooting.

R.I.P. Personal Responsibility....

Personal Responsibility has been dead now for quite sometime its just in times such as this people notice it more.... its a shame. Oh and here is what is worse when people do attempt to take personal responsibility they have a cheer squad behind them saying no its not your fault you couldn't help it well it was only a reaction to the medication you were taking, no it was because your parents sucked, no it was because our government is irresponsible. WoW

No she didn't. She had others write about herself. :)

Oh, I'm perfectly aware of that one.

This is one thing that bothers me about some books. A lot of them are penned by ghostwriters. Why call yourself an author if you actually didn't write it? Hmm-mm. It's narcissism, that's what. They take such a big interest in themselves that they have to have all of the credits to themselves.

It's more about marketing than narcissism. Publishers know that more people will buy books authored by famous people than by Joe Schmoes.

Even when a celebrity writes his own book it's usually heavily edited, which most readers either don't know about or don't care about.

Most politicians use speech writers but no one seems to care about that.

I do care when people call themselves authors when they aren't. It's lying. :)

I know for sure that any business establishment that sells guns/ammo does not definitely hire an illegal immigrant or a person with questionable history for gun dealer job because it's required by law that a gun dealer is federally licensed (FFL) to sell gun/ammo. It's strictly monitored by ATF.

and also - notice in the article that the first time he went to Walmart, they refused to sell him ammunitions so Laughner went to another Walmart where he was able to buy ammo - meaning perhaps he learned how to behaved good enough for them to sell it to him.

Or the sale person was not as observing as the first one and did not notice how crazy Loughner was acting!

oh you do know what Loughner's behavior was at second store and how he acted?

I feel the same way about Sarah Palin using the phrase, "Blood Libel"!
I find it to be very anti-Semitic and I hope people will remember this if she does run for president in 2012! I would love to have a bumper sticker on my car reminding people of this! I am Jewish and after hearing about I knew I was right in hating her! I do not care was kind of excuses she come up with
for using "Blood Libel" , I think she is anti-Semitic for saying this!

An armed citizen trying to shoot Loughner in such a confused crowd could easily hit an innocent bystander.

If an armed citizen was holding a gun when the police arrived, they wouldn't be sure who was the "bad" guy shooter.

It was several citizens who did take down Loughner without using guns.

Personal guns are a good option but they are just that--an option. Just because someone legally carries one doesn't mean that it has to be used in every circumstance.

Shooting in close quarters where there's people around is never a good idea. The shooters may not care who they hit just as long, YOU, the target is shot dead nonetheless.

On the other side of the same token, it doesn't mean we can do the same. We cannot discard people around us, forsaking them for the sake of killing the shooters. So sometimes the best time is when not shoot, despite of the helplessness while watching people get shot around you.

It sucks, I know.

Kind of reminds me of the "heroic grandmother" that emptied her pistol trying to shoot her attacker. This occured in daytime at a Walmart parking lot. Not one of those shots hit the attacker, yet she was hailed as an example of why people should have the right to carry a pistol, because the "sound" of her shooting scared the attacker. I found her wild shooting in a public area, with zero hits, to be the exact opposite. It is a prime example of all that is wrong with letting anyone own a gun. She had no business using it, since she either had no target practice or she forgot her glasses.

That does not mean I am for gun control, but in the case of the heroic grandmother....:hmm:

**nodding**

... Sarah Palin actually used the phrase, "Blood Libel"?

Not a good move if you ask me. Of course, she just had to make it all about herself. What a narcissist.

Yep. She is being villfied for that little speech. And, in fact, she is just spouting more of the same intended to stir the pot as she was being criticized for to begin with. Thanks for proving the point to be valid, Sarah, you dumb azz!
