Ohhh I got it now, soo the one I send to Liebling was Region 4?? Am I correct?..

Oh never mind you send her 4, and english was 5.1

No, the one you sent to Liebling was Region 1 (USA) and NTSC. Go up to the first post that Liebling did, and you can see the earth symbol with "1" on it, between "CC" and "113 Minutes"

Liebling, European version is Region 2. I have many DVDs with Region 2 from Europe, and the American DVDs are Region 1. Also, American DVDs are NTSC whereas Europe and Australia are on PAL system.

Check this link:
http://hometheaterinfo.com/dvd3.htm

Region 4 is for Australia only. But it probably played on your DVD because both are PAL systems.

My DVD player is region-free dvd player, which means I can change the DVD region settings and watch any DVDs from anywhere in the world. It was not expensive, I got mine for like 75 dollars, so maybe you can find a cheap one in Germany.

On the phgoto of the dvd which Angel sent you, it shows the world with "1" on it, which indicates the region. CC means close captioning for the deaf, but of course, it would not work in Germany with the Videotext Untertiteln.

I look up my DVD's, mostly has 4 and 2 and few said "ALL PAL", all works well, and it has lots of different languages in subtitles attached with it.

CC - It won't work on my TV because mine has build-in Teletext subtitles, my friend here bought special TV for it, as I can't borrow her tapes otherwise it will shown just a film without subtitles written on it.

I knew about this problem 20 years ago as I received VHS video tape from Canada with subtitles and it won't shown at all, I was so disappointed with it.

Its great to know you can buy extra for $75 to watch DVD tapes from all over the world, but the link provided said it won't give a warranty?

Ahh I see it now.....Thank you K-75.....

I can sympathize for all those titles bearing the same heading, yet, all different stories, this is the one we're speaking of: click me :D ;)

RR is correct, that's the movie...

Tamara, I know you will love to see that movie, its a true story but a very sad one, it made me cry the whole time.....

I brought an DVD movie from USA, and bring it home etc, and it worked on my DVD player, since i used PAL dvd player. As for the DVD movie it was the NTSC.

Ya need an DVD player that can use all Zones. (MultiZones)

Hope that helps. :)

Thanks K-75, now I'll be sure to check on the back of the DVD movies before sending it off ....

I didn't know this before, but now I do... Once again thanks a million! ;)

Yes, K-75 is correct about Regions... as what K-75 showed link about region in different countries in the world.

I thought at first that you should send me DVD with region 4 which it´s not correct... A man from electrical store said something about region.. which i thought we mean is region 4 until K-75 showed his link here...

It mean that you or anyone mail me DVD with region 2 in the future... check and make sure that there´re region 2 before buy...

I has no problem to receive any DVD or video tape with subtitles from Tamara of Australia. Tamara used region 4 with subtitles to mail me... like what I add on my first thread. I also never have problem with British DVD and videos too... but America...

Thank you for suggestion and feedback... I will find out how to do with DVD because I REALLY want to see it myself... I will let you know what I do with DVD...

DeafClimber, I will try DVD on my computer... to see if it work if not then I will get my friend who is DVD expert to burn with subtitlies... etc... (He is computer freak :giggle:)...

heh.. beautiful idea ! ;) lemme know how it goes.

if you want to know which software that can convert from NSTC to PAL. i did see several NSTC to PAL converter programs online last week when i researched on media network. anyway

wow, thank you for link, Boult... :thumb:

Opal send DVD with Region 4 from Australia to Germany is work, not Region 1.

Most DVD players can be hacked with a few simple button pushes on the remote to become region-free. Just google Hack+dvd player type, and you should be able to hack into your dvd player and enable it to play any region DVD player.
EDIT/ADD: Check this site I found by Googling it. See if your DVD player is hackable or not. DVD Reviewer - Multi-Region Hacks Good Luck!

You have DVD with Region 1 in America and Canada, not for Europe... Only Region 2 for Europe and Australia. Australia Region 4 is work in Germany as well. I got DVD with Region 1 from Angel and Roadrunner but it doesn't work in my DVD player... :( If you want to mail DVD to Europe then you have to check back of DVD to make sure there're Region 2, not 1.

Got it ?

Just ask RR or Angel to order DVD player from Best Buy (electronic store in US and Canada) then send to Germany via air mail, and you can watch Region 1 on DVD player that designed with USA and Canada.

No it will never work because of Volt... German has 240 volt which US has 110 volt... If I had US DVD player then German volt 240 will kill US DVD player with 110 volt.

Angel & RR have to make sure there´re Region 2 on any DVD movies before mail to Germany, not Region 1.

Damn, Why does Germany have high volt than USA does?

It's new to me.
