Back to make-up
I wanted to point out one more thing that might have escaped our attention.
We all know that when kittens and puppies play, any baby animals for that matter, they in fact are not playing but learning and sharpening their survival skills.
With humans is the same way. Children copy and practice a lot of adult behaviour to be 'prepared' later.
Wearing make-up is just but one of that.
A little girl is parrotting her Mommy or her friend's mommy or her Auntie to become a future woman.
The same way girls play with dolls, which has a reason and purpose, they play with make-up - to learn how to be a female one day.
They see clearly that women are wearing make-up, and they pay attention.
Wearing make-up became part of culture long time ago...maybe even before Egyptians..
So, it's not like "what age they should be allowed", because it goes deeper than that.
A Girl needs to learn how to be attractive, how to act as a woman. So they practice. The instinct kicks in quite early.
But it's not until later at 14- 16 when the make-up becomes more serious matter and a
conscious matter, not a play anymore.
From my experience, under that age, if you look at girls carefully, it is till a bit of a "play" to wear make-up.
And our role as mommies is to teach them how to use the tools of womanhood -
wisely.
Single daddies have a bit harder time with this but what are aunties for, or at least make-up experts counters..
