AT&T TAP plan - tethering support?

All,

I am surpised to notice that AT&T does not provide tethering for TAP plan. Only Sprint offer PAM for Sprint relay data plan. Yes, I have two accounts (one for AT&T and one for Sprint). I have old HTC 8525 and BB 8703e and my 2-years contract expired last April.

Last monday, I read news article about WWDC annoucements. He said that new iPhone v3.0 now supports MMS and tethering but AT&T does not support MMS until last summer and never support tethering. Auidences were so unhappy because they still complaint about lack of supports, upgrades, etc. due to extremely greed and very poor service according to reader's comments.

Also, I am surprised to notice that Rogers in Canada offer unlimited data plan with tethering for new iPhone 3GS for just $30 a month. That is huge difference between them over our Canadian border!

In the future, I would like see that AT&T would support tethering in TAP plan as competitive with Sprint data plan. Also, they should support tethering for iPhone cellphones.

Thanks for some replies.

Tethering plan isn't always cheaper, remember.

You have accept the high monthly fee or don't use it.

I need tethering for using P3 into my notebook or netbook if AT&T is in the process of upgrading its 3G wireless network from the current 3.6 Mbps download standard to 7.2 Mbps.

3.6 mbps is enough for video conferencing but it don't make any better because of higher latency.

Video conferencing require low latency to get work so flawlessly, also still cap at 5 GB.

How does AT&T TAP plan work, I never heard of it? I was told a phone was coming out that you could read what the caller is saying and you talk to the caller. I would love that! People would not have keep repeating things to me!

Try watching 2 youtube videos and see what happens.

Watching any videos on 3G isn't really that great anyway so I don't watch videos on 3G, I wait until I get to the hotel room then watch them on hotel wifi.

Theory, if at&t offer unlimited tethering at low cost in large country (USA). Then we will not see the great speed or slow responds.

It probably wise for them to keep price up to meet their demand - more like balance. Neverless, you shall not get that cheap package to do something you want. If you want tethering package - buy if you can or willing afford to use.
