Asthma and Bronchitis

I have pretty bad asthma and every year i get a bad case of bronchitis well my yearly case came around and so i can barley breath and my inhaler isn't working does anyone else gets somthing like this every year
 
Do you go see dr about it? will Advair do the trick? But it's best to go see doctor though. Hope you get better in no time.
 
GO TO THE DOCTOR!

I used to have bronchitis very bad when I was younger, even progressed to pneumonia a couple of times. So if I suspect that a very bad cold is coming on I have to haul ass to the doctor to get antibotics.

But I haven't had a bout of bronchitis or pneumonia since I was 13, because that's when I started having adequete access to proper medical care (I went into foster care at 13).

I had bronchitis when it is in winter time but I always go to doctor when I got bronchitis :)
 
I concur with everyone else. Get your backside to the Dr. Asthma can aggravate bronchitis and vice versa. You can also die, so please go and get treated.
 
I have asthma. When I have a cold, I have to have an inhaler every 4 hours. I get sick quickly when I am cold. I had pneumonia a few times and it was scary. When I start having a cold or feeling sick, I take strong antibotics.
 
I suffer bronchitis every winter time... Suck!!!

I drank bronchitis tea - get herbal drops from doctor.

I would advise you to check with your doctor.
 
We always get bronchititis all the time when we have colds. It's SUCKS!!

Go to the doctor and get antibotics and it will help to get better!
 
thanks guy I go to the doctor every year and every year they say use your inhaler rest and fluids. so i gave up on going to them. I almost had to use my inhaler every 3 hours ir got so bad today
 
aww go to dr and i hope you will get well soon! it is not funny.. can get worse and lead to pnuemonia.. not good.. go to dr soon as possible so you can get well! :)

just like my son.. his father didnt take him to dr .. my son was sick like a month or something.. i got back home from wyoming and saw that he look sick and had fever.. i was pissed off so had to take him to dr.. found out he had pnuemonia?? jeez.. i told him u should know better.. colds and coughing .. that can lead to pneumonia if not take good care of ? he said oh.. jeez..

i know that my son have had croup alots when he was young.. bronchitis also.. pneumonia twice! he had dyspnea since he was young too.. so have to watch him for that.. especially in sports or running aroun here? gotta watch him and make sure he can breath fine. still running more tests on him and see why he kept getting blue around his mouth.. so waiting on results from dr.. sigh..

The doc doesn't give you antibotics for your bronchitis?

My doc does...and it always knocks my bronchitis on its ass! I usually feel better by the 3rd day of the 10-day antibotic remign (sp?!).
 
that's pretty shitty. i've got asthma too so i ahve to watch out about bronchitis

I'm usually given zithromax, and same deal... By the third day or so, I'm feeling well enough to be a PITA to people!

LOL thanks for correcting me!

I usually get Amoxicillin, it always works for me. Once I was given "Z" and it didn't do shit for me!
 
I had bronchitis about 4 years ago.. and it lasted 4 months. yes.. 4 months. I was soo sick that i thought I was going to die. My dr did give me antibiotics, breathing treatments, inhalers and predisone. None of it helped. It just varies on people, some may have a mild case, moderate or severe. What I had was severe. I also was a smoker too. I don't smoke now, but to look back.. it was pretty bad.


Maybe you need to go see your family dr and tell them you want a second opinion or refer you to a specialist for asthmatics. The specialist can tell you more and perhaps give you the right medicine. It does lead you to pnemonia if you don't take care of yourself. It's really a life or death situation once you catch pnemonia. Go see a specialist.

I can think of only one reason why the doctor might not prescribe antibiotics. If the infection is caused by a virus, the antiobitics won't help. But, I agree with Rebel Girl. You really should see someone who's knowledgeable about asthma. Even if you don't need antibiotics, you sound like you need meds to help open up your lungs.

Please get a second opinion if that doctor doesn't want to treat you properly. This could be life or death.
 
I had problems with bronchitis in the past and you should go see the doctor and have that checked. If I had done that when I had bronchitis, it would have saved me a trip into the ER. It was a year before I could breathe normally.

For a while there I had asthma and I think it was trigged by stomach acid backing up into my lungs. You do not want acid in your lungs as it can trigger asthma like syntoms. [sp?] It can also lead into pnuemonia. I was very lucky I didn't end up with that!
 
Hey, it would be better for you to find a pulmonary doctor. A pulmonologist is a physician who possesses specialized knowledge and skill in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary (lung). When I get sick with cold, I see my pulmonary doctor. It is better than going to see a family doctor.

oh poor you! same as here. i have Asthma too. when i was 12 yrs old and took a inhalier every morning and evening. now, not more. i take only Asthma Spray "allergospasmin" that is from Germany. i tell you, i had never antibotics. i dont know why?
