Ask Sequoias Anything

Here's my old thread from 2008, well gonna bring it back from the dead. Go ahead ask me anything. :)

Similar experience I have, and I can understand how you feel especially at that age. Almost 12 years ago I was in Oregon and had to piss and I was in the woods. So I got out of car and went to that huge tree. I did indeed peed on it then look up and said "OH SHIT!" I couldn't believe how huge this tree was. It was awe for me and I can't forget that moment. If I was little boy I may be freaked out too.

Well, I had a funny encounter with a tree....I don't remember the first sight, though.

My parents and I went camping near Yosemite national park.
When I was going bathroom so bad, I walked up and went to piss against that huge tree, I looked up at that tree and I freaked out and ran to hide. LOL That's what my parents told me because I don't remember that happening. They did show me the campsite when we went to visit Yosemite before. We couldn't find the space where it happened, but have a few old pictures of us camping there.

*chuckling* That's funny.

Yeah, image that I never went to West to see the tree until that time. I have seen plenty of trees back in East, but nothing in back east were like that tree, hell no way.

I personally love trees too, they are awesome and they did plenty for us.

Yeah, the trees here in Iowa are lot smaller than in the West, not even the cultivated ones are that big. Seattle is famous for so many different kind of trees planted through the city, you get lost in the tree-scape basically. That's one of the reasons why I love Seattle. It also has a perfect climate for many type of trees, too.

Well, I think you're a super nice guy Sequoias!...How did you come up with ur user name?......

Haha, thank you very much Rock'n.

I came up with this username because I'm a Giant Sequoia tree lover. I'm fansticated with them. I recently visited them in October 2011 for 3 days in Sequoia National Park in California. :) Look at my avatar picture of me standing in front of Cresent Meadow in Giant Grove.

Cool!...Guess you've read the Poem about trees then?...."I think that I will never see...a Poem as lovely as a Tree....a Tree whose hungry mouth is pressed against the Earth's sweet flowing breast....A tree that looks at God all day...and lifts her leafy arms to pray....A Tree that may in Summer wear....a nest of Robins...in her hair.....Poems are made by Fools like me....but only God can make a Tree!"....

Lol, that's a cute poem. :) I don't really read poems.

What's the biggest change in your life you have had since this thread in 2008?

How many pets did you have all your life?

Wow, we were there this past August. Had a great time just taking in the sight of those grand ole trees.

Btw, the author of the poem that Rockin Robin left at her response is Joyce Kilmer. This poem is maybe the best known of his few works.......few cuz he died young....in a machine-gun nest during WW1.....

Are cars with turbocharged engine cool or are they waste of space??

Depends on the car. Some cars with turbo don't make any sense.

Cool, is Iowa different from WA state? How exactly is it different?
