Are you a brave toaster?

Oh! And I don't like white sauces on noodles. Or milk. Well, dairy in general. I don't like hot drinks, any sea food, or pig products. I hate mayonnaise and eggs.

But I do like the flavour of cranberry juice right after I brush my teeth, which is probably the grossest thing on earth, huh?

Mmm, it is most definitely bedtime before I start sharing flaws that are really embarrassing :)
Speaking of Cranberry Juice, it reminds me about ten years ago when I was in San Francisco a bar man gave me a drink which is Cranberry Juice mixed with Orange Juice and why, it is delicious! That was the last time I drank it

you will

you will

why not both like me?

i just don't feel like I do belong in both worlds, it's probably just me being daft. I really want to improve my signing skills but they don't seem to improve.

that's how I was a while ago. you just gotta keep going and keep doing it. take a look at Alex's post. I met him less than a year ago. At that time - I BARELY knew ASL - just some alphabets and couple of words. and then now... it's a significant progress but still on-going. I look forward to next DPHH!

you'll get there. we all do. so will you! :cool2:

Really? I used to be so shy and would get buzzed so I could "socialize" among my hearing peers. Now, after bieng involved with the Deaf community for over 10 years, I find myself adapting well around hearing people when I couldnt before.

However, I am becoming more of a homebody these days...due to being tired and overworked and $$.

I think it's due to my hearing loss. I was always with the same people from the time I was 5 until 17 and therfore, all my friends didn't really make a big deal of my hearing loss. When we moved from there, at the new school, I was ridiculed so much that I just withdrew into myself. I seem to be stuck there. Maybe, getting involved with this deaf club I can open up a little more as I get more into the deaf community. That's one thing I can say, the deaf community has always made feel feel comfortable. Thanks AllDeaf!!!

:laugh2:

I couldn't touch my mother's lemonade because she convinced me it was urine for her doctor o_O

To this day I still can't drink Mountain Dew since a school friend said it was the sweat between Dolly Parton's boobs.:giggle:

He also said that it was camel piss.:eek3:

Also, I'm probably the pickiest eater on earth. It drives people insane. I didn't eat pizza until I was fourteen. I wouldn't even try it. My mom would take peanut butter sandwiches with us when the family wanted to go to pizza hut and I would have a sandwich and the salad bar. I was probably the only child ever who chose salads over pizza. I never ate chocolate either until I learned to like dark chocolate. And I don't like ice cream, cake, or desserts in general. I always wanted soft pretzels for my birthday :)

Bring on the weirdness, kids. I know you all have stranger flaws than you're letting on

My daughter will eat nothing white. No mayo, yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream rice or pasta. She also will not eat mustard, pickles, or onions. the only white things she will consume is milk. She will not eat any kind of dried beans or any greens (spinach, mustard or collard greens). She detests mashed potatoes, but she will eat a baked potato or french fries.

I will not eat a fresh apple or pear. They have to be cooked. I also HATE chocolate of any kind. I can't drink coffee unless it has a flavoring like hazelnut added to it. I really like caramel pecan coffee.

I'm that shy and unconfident i hate going out to meet new people. I wish I could get over it :(

I am not that good at signing, I wish I felt I belonged in both worlds (deaf and hearing) but I don't really know which one I do belong in

I too am slow at learning ASL, but I am just trying to persevere at it.

As far as to which world you belong to, I personally feel I belong to both since my family is hearing and I was b rought up in the hearing world, but I am gaining new family and friends in the deaf world, so I get both like Jiro.

Gasp.... if you get any chocolates for Christmas, will you donate some to me?

Imperfections of Bottesini:

Asperger's Syndrome - a form of high functioning autism.

Ramsay Hunt Syndrome - a virus attacked my auditory and facial nerves taking the small amount of hearing I had and paralyzing my face on the left side. It still progesses with the facial nerve growing back in odd pattern, so I drink from a straw so I don't drool, my face on left side twists uncontrollably when I talk or eat,

Arthritis - requires cane and anti-inflammatory medication.

Blind right eye.

Bad Mitral valve heart murmer.

Do I win? :P

Sorry, Botti, but I think I make you look like the picture of health.
Deaf, diabetic, quadriplegic, bad congenital heart disease, 3 open heart surgeries (including a new valve) and 7 pacemakers, asthma, hepatitis with cirrhosis, cataracts, geek, neat freak, control freak.

Game, set, match! :bump:

Uh oh Bott, I may have to take your cranky toaster away :(

I don't eat anything that swims, slithers, crawls or hops...
And I don't like frosting on my cake. :giggle:

Are you sure about that?

Reeeaaaallly sure?

Did you know the average person swallows at least eight spiders during bedtime?

((whistling))

Feelin' an inch in your throat?

I have a mental cranky toaster ;-) past eating disorder so I can go from being very picky and eating nothing to eating everything. I love to cook. I love anything spicy and wouldn't know what do without chocolate or Diet Coke! I hate blue cheese. I worry about everything, and sometimes the real me breaks through and doesn't obsess and worry and it's great!

I forget things a lot and have a terrible attention span. I love computers, especially macs. I love crafts and making things but I don't have the confidence or patience to see through most of my ideas.

I also love reading about psychology and anything vaguely medical. I love pyschological thriller but am very easily scared- not by gore, but the mental aspect of things.
