Humm... I'm kinda surprised at many of you fellow AD'ers...asking me about the AD Caucus 2010! Let's get through this upcoming Caucus first, then we can talk about it. I will be passing out a survey at the 2008 AD Caucus to find out what you all would want to see happen in the future - all right?

I've already contacted DeafCruise, don't worry.

As for 2008, let's make this a roaring success!!!

I agreed about worrying about the AD Caucus of 2010 later. :thumb:

Pink room, unless it has pink ruffles, sheets, and hot pink feather pillows and shaggy pink carpet then shotgun!!!!

It has everything that your heart could desire...plus a couple red heart fuzzy pillows and gauzy butterfly curtains.

Those plan layouts are splendid! I think it's great that there are committee to help out. I'd like to be a help, somehow. Just let me know. Count me in for the 2008 Caucus.

I have a question - For those who are going, You stated that we'd have to pay $100 for the combo. That price is reasonable. The only thing I wanted to know, When is the deadline for paying the combo cost?

Yes, it should including deadline dates. Good idea. Also I suggest to have one for refundable and one for NONrefundable for $100. This way would be safer and easier for DD. If the person changed the mind or decide not to go after the deadline for NONrefundable must agree the $100 would be donation. Or some percents whatever? What do you think?

Good question, I would like to know also....

I wish I could go, but for obvious financial reasons, Im not going.

Oh yeah is there a chance you might have a AD Caucus in the south sometime like in AR, TN, LA, OK, MO??? Just a suggestion.

I hope the 08 event goes over smoothly.

Yes, There's a chance, we did had one in St. Louis, MO last year, Next year It's in Ohio. DreamDeaf would be fair with everyone, so that everyone could get a chance to attend. ;)

I think that is a good idea but I'm kind of skeptical to the refund/non refunds idea. The reason I'm saying this is because - Supposedly she already had reserved the caucus for all of us and thought that the ones who went didn't show up and left her with a huge bill like (for what happened last year), How would she be able to pay the costs if the tickets were refundable and to pay up a huge bill? I think in order of that, it (in my opinions) should be nonrefuldable for this Caucus because that will pay off the bill and other expenses. Also, there's an advantage to the nonrefundable thing because whatever is left over from that expenses can be rolled over into 2010 AD Caucus fund or something like that.

I know most of you would prefer a refundable ticket -- It is understandable when emergencies, personal situations, so and on arises. But, If you guys are really appreciated of what AllDeaf does to serve you guys then you'd have a heart to understand and to agree. ;)

It's just my 2 cents. I'm up for some disagree/agreements with respect, of course. Let's get the ball rolling because the more we discuss about the situations related to AD Caucus 2008, That will help the committee get ideas and how to make it the best AD Caucus 2008 ever!

Yea ... I agree with you especially what I read about DD's last year experience. This time would be better preparation. It would save DD and her committees headaches and worrisome. This way it's fair for everyone too. It's just my two cents suggestion.

I agree. Unfortunately the situation from last year should have not happen but you know, in a way, I think that helped us learn a thing or two in order to make it better for this year. You know, You got to make mistakes and to learn from it before doing the same thing in the future. ;)

Good questions - I am still dealing with the hotel, so no deadline yet. There would probably be three deadlines - early bird, regular and late registration (at door). Usually the early bird special ends 90 days before the event, the regular ends 30 days before and then the very last deadline before the door combo is 10 days before. At door registration would be the highest - probably at least $25.00 over the regular combo.

As for refundable/non-refundable - registration fee is totally non-refundable. However, because of what happened last year, it would have to be all non-refundable. You would need to make absolutely sure you could go - sometimes when you're not totally sure if you can go, it may be better to pay at the door, even with the higher cost.

As far as I know, the event will be during the weekend of July 16-20, 2008. It depends on the hotel - and the combo price will depend on what the final outcome of the contract comes to.

Remember, the contract usually includes the cost of the reception, banquet, special rooms such as meeting/banquet rooms, also the cost of the employees working during the event.

Also, please remember that the cost of the group ticket rate for Cedar Point is separate from the combo cost.

You are still responsible for booking and paying for your own hotel room.

Does this help? LMK if you have more questions.
