Veterinarians warn against doggie treat
Dog owners are being warned to think twice about giving their pets a popular treat designed to freshen a dog's breath.
According to veterinarians, at least 13 dogs have died after being fed the pet treat "Greenies."
Animal vets say the treats can become lodged in a dog's esophagus or intestine. And the treats don't break down.
The company that makes "Greenies" recommends owners buy the appropriate size treat for their dogs and to check that their dogs are chewing them properly.
The company says the number of complaints it's received is very low in relation to the numbers of treats it sells.
