That's your city government at work. Think about it, on a construction site as big as the Library Garden Apartments you would have to have a building inspector on site everyday all day if they were to inspect every aspect of the construction, and how many more construction projects are going on in a city the size of Berkeley.

I didn't mean for a fire escape structure but so that people could escape from a fire. That is, there has to be an opening in the exterior wall, either a window or a door, for emergency exit. Fire safety regulations for multi-unit residences are usually pretty strict about that.

That is what I said it , the door could made into a window! Good grief I know there has to way for people to escape if there is a fire. I also said there could be a stairway in the building that could be used, we're only seeing one side of the building and have no idea what the rest of building looks like. I am hoh not stupid !

I never called you stupid. I was just trying to make my previous post clearer in case my wording wasn't precise enough.
