Having lots of mirrors can be freaking me out sometimes. lol Sadly, I do need mirrors.
That's very expressive. Too bad I missed what Frisky liked.
The mirror I have is one that I bought in a Babies R Us store that one would use to see their child in the back seat while they (the parent, not the child ) were driving.I thought I was being inventive and original when I recently stuck a spare car rearview mirror on my computer to see people approaching me from behind. But it seems that quite a few of you have also come up with the idea as well. Maybe we could copy the mods who would customize their scooters by sticking on loads of mirrors. The person with the most mirrors on their computer wins!!!
I resisted (was going to type IGNORE IGNORE IGNORE).
No, I typed out one line and then took it out immediately. It was just a generic comment about what does banishing wrinkles have to do with values of deaf culture. But I am learning I must keep my mouth shut now. I can be in a happy mood today!
Clearing up wrinkles- application of secret deaf values- should be announced from the "roof tops". Helpful to Hearing society? Just checked the mirror no wrinkles-yet! Right- "young age" does have advantages.

What a great coping skill. Rear view mirrors on your desk. I love it!
It really would help me, too, because I can get so involved in what I am doing that people sneak up on me all the time. They really think it is funny to watch me jump out of my skin.
Are you saying that anyone who gets a CI is resisting deafness, and is lacking acceptance of deafness? No, your resistance to deafness is manifested in your actually getting a cochlear implant. It has virtually nothing to do with your acceptance, but rather, your lack of acceptance.
It does seem illogical that if someone was not accepting his deafness he would seek out a forum that is all about being deaf.Reality check. As for the "pseudo psychologizing" on my "alleged non acceptance" of my bilateral deafness. Consider when I joined Alldeaf.com-July/10 vs December 20, 2006-the actual date of deafness. The actual date of operation-Sunnybrook/Toronto- was July 12,2007.
So much for "computer screen diagnosis" to reality.
Don't I recall asking anyone in Alldeaf.com almost 4 years ago- anything to do with my deafness.

Being deaf is not the same experience for every individual.
What works for one person doesn't work for another.
How about multiplying that by 7 everyday as in my household (8 counting hubby) btw, still trying to teach my kids to 'tap' me not POKE me. What is FB teaching the kids these days?! (poke.....poke back) Mirrors - great idea.

Or are you saying this about drphil only?
I know what you mean. That's a legitimate gripe. (I wish he'd learn to use the signature feature.)Personally, it's not the CIs that I have issue with. It's the attitude. And the way that he has responded to the people here who have tried to reach out to him.
