 Maybe or maybe not. some hearing people and deafies thought I was like in 30's. I guess that being of this deaf culture that makes me look younger that I can't complain with having some wrinkles. So the deaf culture is a beneficial for me. :D

Being comfortable in your own skin and loving who you are is the best wrinkle prevention there is. Deaf Culture has given that to a lot of people.

What if you don't respond to any of drphil's posts unless they are on-topic? Then he wouldn't feel the need to try to clarify or elaborate on his rather nebulous connection to deaf culture.

Excellent suggestion. Let's agree, then.

Off the point to clear up the mind and sort of relating with deaf culture but... :

I must have the mirrors at my desk while I am working. SO I would know someone is coming behind me. My deaf friends do the same thing. Im sure some of you all do that too.

And, given the fact that very few implanted children are exposed to Deaf culture at a young age, is the remark about the audi a cultural phenomena. It is simply the result of her individual experience.

Which happends to be great one

I have a mirror clipped on top of my monitor...but I don't always notice when someone comes up behind me...so engrossed in what I'm doing. :giggle:

Aww bet you were startled too often. :giggle: Maybe your mirror is too small not to notice it? I have a medium sized mirror. I am tempted to buy a vertical mirror on my other side of the cube. I have two small mirrors but one for my vanity and one is for decoration. hahah

What a great coping skill. Rear view mirrors on your desk. I love it!

It really would help me, too, because I can get so involved in what I am doing that people sneak up on me all the time. They really think it is funny to watch me jump out of my skin.

couple of my hearing co workers saw me having the mirror. They put their own mirrors and they love it!

I can believe it. See the Deaf have a lot of ways to help the hearing out, if only the hearing would realize it!

That's a feng shui principle too. Also there's a recommendation (in feng shui) to put up mirrors on the backsplash above the stove, so the cook can see if someone comes into the kitchen behind her/him.

Mirrors

I thought I was being inventive and original when I recently stuck a spare car rearview mirror on my computer to see people approaching me from behind. But it seems that quite a few of you have also come up with the idea as well. Maybe we could copy the mods who would customize their scooters by sticking on loads of mirrors. The person with the most mirrors on their computer wins!!!:giggle:
