A Motorcycle Thread About Absolutely Nothing!

Sorry for the confusion there, you dont have to take it but I did.

:dizzy:

makes me want to say "F IT! Let's ride!"

no.... you're not understanding me. There are 2 required parts to get licensed - written test and road test.

1. You go to DMV to take written test to get a motorcycle permit which allows you to take Basic Rider Course at MSF
2. The MSF Instructor is authorized to evaluate you for road test. If he/she passes you - then you can go to DMV to get a motorcycle license ("M" on your license)

You think I don't understanding you then you are selfish. We passed written test AND road test in MSF class today. In fact, everyone in MSF class don't have permit at all.

You got wrong person. :aw:

Just for clarification:

Prior to taking the MSF were you allowed to ride your motorcycle on public streets?

No, We are not allowed to ride MSF's motorcycle on public streets. Only at build's park till we passed road test and written test. Now, we can take our future motorcycles to public street.

No one rode their own personal bikes to the class? Everyone borrowed the MSF bikes?

ah-ha. Now I understand. I suppose this is how it's done in Iowa. Just like Endemic

Yep! Some of them do own personal bikes but they borrowed the MSF bikes.

Your state's MSF don't have bikes at all?

if MSF do not have bikes especially for BRC - they would not be in business.

The college supplies the bikes for the basic class. Where I took it at anyways. If you take the experienced rider class or dual riding or sportbike class you must use your own bike.

My state does have MSF loaner bikes but most riders prefer to use their own bikes.

Iowa cost around $200 and IL cost only $20. We taked MSF at IL, also we live in IL. Well, Iowa is only 10min away from us.

Everyone passed the class but Navy retired 80 years old man don't make it due too many break rules. He forget to bring a jacket and gloves, he leave it at home so We had to waiting for him when he drove to home to grab a his gear. Next day, he wear a church dress but he don't bring a boots. So he rode MSF's motorcycle without boots for around an hour till someone busted him and he is not here anymore.

He said he is the one of 10 people in the world for "master seal" (not sure if right word) and He went to BP oil spill to help.

$180 difference? :-o

why so cheap in IL?

I just found it out in class today. Once we passed class then we can get our $20 *each of us* back but we donation $40 to MSF for t-shirt. So $20 for one MSF t-shirt or free.

No idea why so cheap in IL. :dunno:

OH! I know. I just remembered. That MSF in IL must be state-run (or funded by donation). Some states do offer free MSF courses. But we no longer have free MSF courses offered by NJ as of this year due to massive budget cut. I took mine at private college $250 :mad2: but it was because free MSF courses were booked for months and I didn't want to wait that long.

Make sense to me. MSF is in Iowa's college which it cost around $200 and ready in anytime. No, we don't want to waste $400 for us.

We waited for almost 1 year for MSF. We signed up and waited for almost three months for first class but they failed to check their email that we want an interpreter then they gave us another four months with interpreter. We can't find any info for phone number but email only on MSF's website for our area.
