A 4-Wheels Thread About Absolutely Nothing!

Bought this car from ford dealership in 2004 with 22k miles, with warranty up to 75k miles
first transmission went bad at 50k
second transmission went bad 50 miles later ( went bad as i drove home)
third transmission went bad at 107k (warranty expired had to pay 4300.00 to ford dealer)
forth transmission went bad at 110k
fifth transmission is yet to be installed

ford you suck, i will never buy another ford product ever again. Ford shows no quality or workmanship in there ford explorer series. I will buy foreign next time.

Damn, I forget which part was problem that no forwards and reverse that I learned from class.

Rebuilt an auto transmission is pain in ass.

My girlfriend has 1999 Ford Windstar with broken front end...long story what happened to it. Her friend finally found her keys to the van, yay! This weekend we will start the baby up and warm it up and check tranny fluid when warmed up and move it to a safer spot because it sunk into the soil quite a bit thanks to the heavy thunderstorms loosened the soils up.

I forget to post you about Windstar tranny. Last Friday morning, I doned with an used tranny installation and didnt start it till late afternoon cuz I picked up more smog works. On late afternoon, Windstar started and running. I took it for roadtest to check tranny's shifting patterns, feels like chatters when upshifting to 4th gear (like TCC turn on), keep drive more time, noticed chatter was almost disappear, like I say must be sticky valve body. I returned to the shop to check ATF level. Ok then put a final front wiper box assy and covered the cowl panel then released it.
I saw the RO invoice.......... $1,200 used tranny ( we got it for $600)
$756 labor
3 month warranty on used tranny.
