Ok, for one, if the gas price jumped that much in a single move, you will see a lot of complaints, screaming and blogging.. but guess what you will also see… People filling up.
The point is like it or not, most of America cannot just drop gas. Even those driving hybrids will still be pumping gas as these car’s still need it. It will be a major kick in the pants that frankly some need to move to more efficient vehicles. I am not saying it is the best way, or the only way to force people to move forward. I drive a efficient vehicle, but I am constantly questioned by others, even family, with “what is the point, other than to save on gas”.. The wallet for almost everyone I have talked to about my Smart car has been the main reason that I must have picked that car, the fact that it is a blast to drive really does not click in people’s mind.
Now, back to the article, I agree that this is a bit over bloated and a ‘right wing’ point of view. With a few clicks, you can tell that this is a opinion article and was written by Ben Lieberman. Who works as an energy and environmental analyst at The Heritage Foundation, a Conservative Research group. Now MY opinion is that his point of view is very skewed to one political point of view and writing about a President that is of a opposing political party. I am going to take this with a grain of salt.
