12 second start up delay on my Naidas.

I know you know a lot about Naidas, but you can't say that the low battery warning cannot be turned off, because MINE is turned off. When hooked up to the Audi's computer, it tells her this.

ETA: Now I see you took that from Phonak's website. Sorry. Anyway, regardless mine is turned off, so, yeah, lol.

I'm only stating what Phonak state. Strange yours turned off on its own, maybe a problem with your Naida?!?!

It was an error that turned it off on its own, but it shows on my Audi's programming, and she said she could turn it back on if I wanted, but I told her not to. So the fact that it CAN be turned off isn't an error or problem.

I like the low battery warning signal, I don't mind that. I'd rather be warned my battery's low so I can change it instead of having the hearing aid go gradually quiet before shutting off completely.. I don't always notice the hearing aid going quiet when the battery's real low ha.

Just be glad you don't have my low battery "tone"--it's a voice that says "battery"....it's startling when you are home alone or somewhere quiet.

12 seconds is a LONG time.

Can you really adjust your own hearing aids? That would be nice. I don't have that option.

My Audi changed my start up delay to 12 secs due to my tight fitting earmolds.

I don't mind having the 12 sec delay but am curious as when I turn them on, about 2 secs later they turn on/whistle but then they turn off again for 10 secs and then turn on.

Are they meant to do that short turn on/whistle or should it stay quiet for 12 secs and then turn on? I would of thought, they would of stayed turned off.

Anyone have an idea as to what is happening? I've seen my Audi 3 times this week and once again forgot to ask him, lol.

If you want to stop the whistling, try this :

(1) Open the battery cover halfway. Most HA battery covers have a "halfway-open" setting (it will click when you reach that setting, and then the battery cover won't move if you don't make any sudden moves :)

(2) Put them on, being just a little more careful because the battery cover is half open.

(3) When they are on, just reach behind and click the door closed with your thumb

(4) This way you can have a short delay and it won't whistle :)

my low battery tone on my Oticons sounds like a robot beeping which is pretty cool but annoying during class or when I'm with my peeps

That can be turned off too :) I don't see the point of "battery low" beeps... if you suddenly can't hear, the batteries are dead lol, what other clues do you need?

It's to give you time to change them BEFORE they die.

Or time to freak out because you forgot to put a new package of batteries in your purse or pocket :D.

Can you turn the volume down on that beep so you just don't hear it?

I'm sure it's possible :)

You guys are lucky you have a delay. I hadn't even known such a thing existed, because mine has NO delay. But then again, mine is Starkey, not Phonaks or Naidas. Next time I'm at my audi's I'm going to ask about putting in a delay.

Exactly. I can't stand the low-battery beeping on mine. Drives me bonkers! It doesn't give my battery a chance to fully die out like my other HA (that doesn't have the battery beeping) because the beeping is too annoying. I asked my audi to remove that, but unfortunately mine is the last model of my Starkey DaVinci to come out where that isn't an option to change/eliminate. :(

I think the volume follows your programming, but check with your Audi, you never know. Mine is turned off, but that may be an anomaly, worth checking into.

LOL ikr? but I'm still keeping the tone just to let me know it's getting low ;D

Also..

Also if you have Streamer you don't need DAI or FM, just plug it in, attach the charger, and put it on your desk :)

I just found out that it works while it's charging, so I won't need earhooks or anything :)

Phonak FM outride the streamer technology tho....Safarigirl uses the Dymantic Phonak FM which is much better and it means she doesn't have to wear the streamer round her neck all the time.

If you are unable to afford a Phonak FM then using the feature of the streamer is the next best option.

I do not mind the various sounds these Naida S 111 make. They do not do them over and over. It is a real journey with these things. I just learned that what I thought was on and off with the button push was a mute on and off, the battery door is the only shutoff. Now I know why I am going through batteries so fast. It has no doubt been mentioned in here several times.
The audi saved me money by going with the S 111 while I am sure there is some capability I am not getting it I still get the powerful amp and more options than I know what to do with.
I like the delay but really it does not matter with these Naida's because the Whistleblock feature which has lots of adjustment. If there is not a bunch of whistling feedback the delay is not so important. I like the official start up sound though just for well here we goooo.....

That's really bad that you weren't told how to properly turn them off, your Audi should of mentioned that as pretty standard thing. I wonder what else you haven't been told about?!

true. and I know that trick since I can recharge it on my computer

true, I use the Inspiro and it is better LOL :D (I tried out the audio streaming but wasn't as good as the streamer was but I can still hear some words while my FM is in audio streaming mode)
