Ooops..forgot to add this...my hearing loss is in the severe/profound range.

I wore hearing aids from 18 months old and onwards...with the exception of approximately 7 years when I went without hearing aids. I got implanted with a CI 4.5 years ago in my right ear. I recently finally obtained a hearing aid for my left last week. I couldn't afford new hearing aids in...

I got mine done on the worse ear -- have had the CI for almost 5 years and am loving it -- it helps a lot in assisting me in lipreading and catching what is being said to me. Of course, it's not 100%...at least it helps me get integerated into the hearing community better.
