Thanks! I know that not everyone needs a name sign. I just think it's a unique aspect of Deaf culture. I felt quite honored when my friend gave me my name sign, I just didn't know if it would be viewed as rude if I made up a name sign myself.

My Deaf friend will be volunteering at my work soon. Should I allow him to make name signs for our coworkers? Or could I make some myself? I read awhile back that it's a thing that only Deaf/HOH can make name signs.

I would, but they aren't receiving medical attention, like a patient in a hospital would be. Plus, I'd like to be able to sign things such as "I am a resident of blah blah town," or "I am a resident at blah blah apartment complex," etc.

I love that Maroon 5 song :) Sometimes, I find myself signing along to songs for fun. Maybe she can interpret it as, "Girl, wow, I'm really addicted to you. I will win you back again." Just keep syntax in mind.

I've never been one to focus on differences. I'm just as curious and cautious on thoughts of others regardless of WHO I am dating. I am most interested in how the deaf/HOH cultures view hearing/Deaf relationships, and how those people who are in them experience them.
