Seems that only older VP's connect to signaling systems. That's interesting. Purple pages me when someone calls, which is nice, but I''d love to have it connect to the signaling system when at home. I was considering ditching the VP-200, but I'll keep it for now.

Specific names? How about P3? I don't mean their own little flasher. I mean a signaling system that flashes throughout my home. Any online site showing how to do it? How do I hook Z4 to the signaling system? Others? How?

I am curious if Videophones, other than the VP 200, can work with signaling systems like, for example: Sonic Alert. The VP 200 does, but do others?

I did this years ago with an old linksys wifi router with D-WRT. It worked, but was not reliable. Maybe this WET 610N is better for this now. I may try this.

Why not just use the P3? When you say "problems with the internet" do you mean wifi? If there is a wire to hook the VP-200 too then you can use it for the P3.

When I want to surf the web, I use a netbook, or a computer. My BB browser does a good enough job for me when I just need to check something quick. I use the BB primarily for email, not for surfing. It's a good combo. The 8330 is old! No wonder it's slow. A newer one is faster. Google...

#2 You can get a Purple P3 netbook, or just download P3 to a laptop, or you could get ZVRS VP or Z4 downoloaded to a laptop, or.. basically get any other VP you want (that is portable - not from Sorenson though) and use it for your kids to call you, or you to call them.

That's not it at all. It's too much power in the hands of one company. They're a good company for sure, but if the others didn't fight to get FCC to put limits on Sorenson's power then we would have no other choice for VRS. Has everyone suddenly forgotten Sorenson's history?

I'm not saying that they are a monopoly because they were first to market. You're right that it's not their fault if others started later. However, Sorenson became a monopoly through free VP giveaway, requiring users to use their relay so many minutes per month, not allowing other VP's to call...

What you make is irrelevant. Even rich people like free stuff. It makes them richer.
