DOD Asks: How Would You Feel Showering With Gays?

That's more than just money though. That's people moving in with each other. But hey, that's not a bad idea. Maybe we should give tax breaks to anyone who moves in with a gay, lesbian, bi, or trans person. :giggle:

DOD Asks: How Would You Feel Showering With Gays?

Don't you get that forcing gays to be closeted is also imposing one person's morals on another? It works both ways. How would you feel if most people believed your religion is immoral? And if they wanted to force you to never talk about it, not indicate in anyway that you believe in it? How...

What would you do about this?

Even if we didn't have a joint account I'd just want to know, since we're living together. I kinda like to know things like an entire car is parked in the driveway.

    coffee brew

 Can I move in? Seriously that's really cool. We have one of those typical coffee brewers and brew Maxwell or whatever it's called. One of those big tubs with the built-in handle that you can get at any Walmart.

Money doesn't remove social outlooks. It's an invalid question.

    Famous People Without...

And to add, celebrity life and parenthood don't mesh well. If I was famous I wouldn't want to have kids just cause I'd probably give them a screwed up childhood.

What would you do about this?

A car purchase is something I would want to discuss. Not necessarily grant permission, but just so we would be on the same page. Seems pretty reasonable to me.

DOD Asks: How Would You Feel Showering With Gays?

Totally agree. Being gay doesn't mean you automatically want to jump every same sex person's bones. The race/sex comparison doesn't work when talking about surveys here. Even the most racist and sexist of bigots have had some kind of exposure to women and other races. But most...

Another Nigerian Scam... DON'T FALL FOR IT!

:werd: This thread reminds me of the song "I Go Chop Your Dollars". And, yes, you read that right, there's a popular Nigerian hit song about scamming people. Link to song lyrics Link to video

How far would you go for a rebate?

By the time he was done photocopying and calling reps he probably spent more than the $4 he would have saved. I wouldn't go that far for $4. Maybe for $50 or $100.

    nzsl question

I read Braille (grade 2 American) and I'm in the process of getting a Braille display. In fact I have one lying on my desk. It's just a matter of getting it to work with my computer now. :giggle: Happy to answer any questions and give any tips. :P

    Bilateral!!!!

I don't get why most insurance companies and governments don't cover bilateral HA's or CI's. Anyone knows hearing out of both ears is better than hearing out of one. Glad to hear your insurance does cover it faire_jour, congratulations!

    CDI: Certified Deaf Interpreter

I've definitely heard of Deaf people acting as SSP's (or intervenors) for the Deafblind. I was invited to go to DB camp and I had the option of having a Deaf or hearing SSP. But could a CDI double as an SSP or do they need formal training in DB terping first?

    Anti-Hearing Aid people?

:gpost: I've had family act weird about my cane and I just want to say "I'm blind, it's reality, what's to hide." And HA's are even smaller than canes. I never got what the big deal is. If anything, missing conversations and running into objects is more embarrassing than having a cane or HA.

    nzsl question

From what I understand, generally two-handed alphabets are slightly modified so the sighted-hearing person's hand acts as the dominant hand and the deaf-blind person's hand acts as the passive hand. Example with the BSL alphabet: Description of BSL alphabet Description of BSL Alphabet...
