Your name is what?!

Interesting thread!!

Like Gwyneth Paltrew's daughter called Apple, Demi Moore's Rumer, Scout and Tallulah, and Paula Yates and Bob Geldof's girls - Fifi Trixibelle, Peaches, Pixi and Heavenly "Tiger-Lily"

See the link below and I am pleased to find two of my daughter's unusual names there, my girls are proud of their names and telling me they don't need to add their surnames, as they are odd out in their whole school! Better than 30 Rebeccas/Jessicas and 20 Matthews\James\Daniel in their classrooms!!

One great Aunty of mine was called Ivy Fanny!!

How could anyone confuse Kerri with Kirsi?

Oh yeah, I left out my roommate. He dubbed himself Fletch when he realized how much he hated his real name, Bobby. It's stuck, and now no one even knows who Bobby is.

I pronounce my name "K-ear-si" so they probably misheard it as "Kerri"...

Oh yeah I have a friend just like Fletcher-- but we called him Rupert. NOBODY knows his first name (only us who work with him-- since his real name is being used in his work email address). I didn't know his real name until WAY later. :-X

Is that weird how a person's nickname totally taking over one's life?

my two good friends of mine are number one lady name is Frosty and another lady name is Siri ( her mother loves to riding her horse so she decided to pick a name "Siri" after her horse s name )

Hi! I want to tell you that my daughter name is Dawniella. Why I choosed this name? Let me explain you to understand how to speak or spelling on name: Dawn-i-ella. My middle name is Dawn. I was research on baby names and I like DANIELLE but I asked their names, they said that calls their nickname was DANIEL as a boy's name! I figured it out and changed to dawniella (I added W and A instead of E.) Many people said this name is very beautiful and create for rare names. I can tell you that her name is beautiful fairy means to Ella and the dawn at daybreak means to Dawn. The story is fantasy of princess and ride on unicorn to a castle during dawn. :) Now you got it? Please feel free to ask me any questions.

I had a childhood friend her name was Katibaby.
Her full name was Kathleen. But that is what they called her.
I loved it, but as she grew up she didn't want to be called that anymore.

My sisters used to call me Missy.

a family came over from somewhere in asia to minnesota and when their twin girls were born the only two words they knew were pepsi and cola so they named their girls Pepsi and Cola

My late paternal grandma was named Oral

My own name, although the name itself isn't unusual (its a variant of Denise) the spelling is : Dyniece. I'm constantly complimented on how unique it is. I hated it as a child (nobody could spell it right!) but I love it now.

When I worked in broadcast radio, I had an intern named Summer. That alone isn't odd but she had a sister named Winter and another sister named Autumn. As of this writing, there is no 'Fall' or 'Spring' in the family.

My grandma's name was Herberta. It's rare I guess. I cannot think of anyone have werid or odd name.
