For me, it's not about whether or not Earth is beautiful. Earth is definitely beautiful.

But I'm also enthralled by the idea of opening up Space to the human species and discovering more and more things out there. It's an adventure!

My first ex majored in art history and stuff. She was a heavy hardcore into those stuff.

I love art also myself, so I have from time to time explore this stuff, maybe once a few months in case there are updates.

My favorite one is H.R. Giger so far, though. You know the 'Alien' movie series? He invented the Alien monster.. Would be a neat thread to start on this one. But some are just too DEEP. Stuff depicted in Dune movie and Prometheus movie were also part of his previous works. Also 'Species' movies.

He was a Swiss heroin addict who went into therapy... and he was advised to take art class. After that, he became a painter. I myself own H.R. Giger's Necronomicon book as well as several others, they're expensive but worth it. The books are like... The size from my nose to penis.

SOrry for getting off the subject, I should sleep soon.

EDIT: by the way, H.R. Giger was a best friend with Salvador Dali, even though Dali was pretty old in 70s and such.

On Earth! If everyone is going to be living in space I would stay on earth and tried to get other people to stay too. But I will be dead in less than 5,000 years will not have to worry about this!

The photo of the atmospheric sailing ships and the weird looking living quarters surrounding a lake - we can prevent that monstrosity from happening if we take things down a notch before it's too late.

Seriously, somewhere on Earth where I would be in contact with few people, able to do what I want, when I want.

I think I had already met some zombies on earth , some people seem to be brain dead the way they drive and text at the same time.

happens in Texas

Yup, this theme is known as Steampunk.

According to dictionary:

steam·punk [steem-puhngk]
noun
1.
a subgenre of science fiction and fantasy featuring advanced machines and other technology based on steam power of the 19th century and taking place in a recognizable historical period or a fantasy world.
2.
a subculture inspired by this literary and film subgenre: the fashions and gadgets of steampunk.

steampunk's one of my favorite styles. I like clock and clothes.

for those who think we'll have a nuclear winter or have a grim outlook of future... here it is

if there is some nuclear apocalypse or similar coming soon... I would hijack a plane and crash-land somewhere isolated and far away from farce. mountain is all I know how to live and survive.

I think future of earth won't look very good, it will probably be abandoned and in ruins. Like there will be "Ruins of Los Angeles" or "Ruins of NYC/Times Square" and so on, because of some apocalypse / armageddon situation. Like north korea playing with nukes right now is just a sign that it only takes one person with the tools, to cause destruction. That's my opinion why I'd get off earth...

Living in a planet colony, it's not going to be like Earth whereas I get up in the morning and my dog need to go out to pee. All I have to do is to put on blue jeans and t-shirt and put my dog on a leash. That take about 1O minutes to do all that, but this living in a colony, it will take me about hour and half, I have to check to be sure my space suit is operating 100%, make sure I have enough oxygen and putting on the suit...well I have to wake up my wife to help me with it... and umm...too late...my dog just pee'ed.

I don't think you should worry about that too much in zero-gravity! have your dog do the business, then clean up later!

Hmm, I thought of this for some reason. This is the 2013 graphic depiction of what might happen in Europe.
