YOUR "FREE" IQ TESTING - Close to pretty good online IQ test

Have you ever taken those random IQ tests online? Where they give you pictures, some words, definitions etc?

Needless to say, a lot of those tests are based off with no specific background criteria at all, just to see if you can answer it right or wrong. They don't come from a foundation designed to study your natural IQ.

A few months ago I found a pretty good site. There's no grammar or english involved, the test is COMPLETELY by figures and pictures. It starts off pretty easy, then it gets pretty hard.
Note however: the results you get doesn't mean that this is your actual IQ to be compared in general, it compares your results with the rest of the people who took the test.

If you wanted to change language, you can choose from English, Spanish, Danish, or German.

This test is KNOWN to take a long time. You have 40minutes from the start of this test to get as far as you can of 39 questions.
If you are at work or school, I would recommend that you don't take it until you have a break because there isn't a pause feature.
I almost used all 40 minutes.

Here is the test. It requires that you have Adobe Flash installed to be able to take it.

If you want to consider how the testing procedure is done, this is the fine print:

The developers of the test said:
This test is developed with the aim of measuring your Intelligence Quotient (IQ).
The test is Culture Fair, i.e. it minimises the effect of cultural variables, such as language, mathematics, etc.
The test is based on logic, but is furthermore designed to test learning capability, memory, innovative thinking and the ability to simultaneously address several problems.
The test measures the general intelligence - g.
The calculation of IQ is based on answers from more than 250,000 people.
This test is inspired by "Raven's Advanced Progressive Matrices" which is an acknowledeged IQ test and used by e.g. Mensa as their official test.

Just be careful with online tests. They haven't been standardized, so their results are not reliable or valid.

That being said, have fun. Just don't take the results too seriously.

Well, those are the disclaimers, but it still has not been standardized, so the results are not reliable nor valid. No reason not to have fun with it, though. Just keep in mind that a standardized test will reveal different results, and those are valid and reliable.

I did quite a bunch of tests in school and they always were around that level...

112 Lol.... must be having an off day... the IQ test I took yesterday was 127.. Though the picture was was sure different!! :wave:
 
Wow, looks like everyone who responded is smarter than me.

Especially Vamp, our boy genius and wonder. I think 140 is the top score you can get?
 
I'm not even telling, since my was much lower than when tested in childhood.

But then my father employed a psychologist to tailor it to my needs.

I dunno. I'll have to retake the test again to see how I do.

There were a couple that were really hard and the answer didn't fit the patterns. :dunno:
 
I did not take that test, but from a previous IQ test I got around the same as vampy - 135-140. I don't think it makes anyone a genius, honestly. It's just how well I can take a test.

You could get higher, but those scores get progressively rarer and rarer. 140+ is about 1 in a hundred.
 
IQ tests aren't reliable and acurate, especially the online ones. They are merely for fun in my point of view. I have done quite a bunch of IQ tests in school because at some point of my life, some teachers thought I needed special attention *grumble*. I hated the fuss they were doing around me.

Some tests came up very positive (up to 146!) and some didn't show anything. (at least that is as much as I got out of my parents, whatever that means...). All I can remember is that at the age of 10 I was bombared with tests over and over again and I HATED it! I just wanted to be a normal kid...

And I got to be a normal kid, thanks to my parents who listened to their heart!
