I found out that i'm getting my vp on April 6th at 8pm. I'm so excited now!!!!

How long is installation?? do any of you have any tips for me for the VP??

Thanks!!!!!!!!

The installation won't take long - they only need to set up the VP and configure the port forwarding or DMZ stuff int the router (or they would use the SR-200 or whatever)

Good luck! :)

If you are cable modem, installallation, explaining, and signed statement about 1 1/2 hours or more

If you are dsl modem, all of them about 2 hours or more

coolgirlspyer90, I hope you don't mind if I ask others in here:

What if I've done the port forwarding and configured quality of service (QoS) for a specific Ethernet port?

How long will that take once I've pre-configured it for an installer? I could probably self-install it myself, can I?

The reason I ask is I know about the ins-and-outs of how network and firewall works and I've done a lot of experience with networking. I have a cable modem.

Unable to predict how long, it is based on installer's experience, if they are expert, should not take long but if rookie then, oh well good luck.

Seriously, if there is new hired installer, I would encourage them because everybody needs to start to experience from somewhere, and can learn alot.

I have known some installers from various VRS providers have done in snap, while others took hours and hours to figure out.

DSL is not as hard as you think. DSL is pretty much like built in router modem. They got same basic way of set up as if normal router do, just that it is different interface. Just like lady with various dressing but same lady.

Die is right about how long it would take an installer to complete installation. Depend on installer's experiences.

coolgirlspyer90, you may want to have your father to be in the same room while the installer is doing the setting up so he could see what he/she is doing. Also check to see if the Internet is working on the computers. :)

And, try not to give your VP number to just anyone especially the ones you don't know well/at all. I don't belive there is a feature where you could block unwanted calls at the moment. :)

I am sure you will enjoy your VP as much most of us do. :)

I'm not that used to humor, as I'm pretty much used to logic...
