XBOX 720 - Rumored to be six times more powerful than XBOX 360

Make sense because Xbox 360 is just like 6 years old gaming PC and incapable to run most modern games with anti-aliasing, ultra texture, ultra shader, native 1080p, etc so most console version of games shipped with fixed-based medium to high setting, along with AA disabled and native 600p-720p so upscale to 1080p.

Next-gen Xbox will be closer to recent mid-range gaming PC.

It will be expensive if you want now so MS just want next-gen Xbox to be priced at $300-$400 so wait until 2013 or 2014 will be better bet.

Also give game developers more time to mess with next-gen graphic and programming to get work with new console and API.

Yeah. I'd do the same thing... wait a bit.

Who knows, they might even have a collector's edition worth buying later on. ;)

Hey , Will MS put Windows 8 OS on XBOX 720 ? I can afford $600 than $300-400.

I doubt it and it will be system software that based on console, similar to Xbox 360. The console gaming are not designed to be completely PC style and they don't have enough memory to support full OS.

If you want $600 system with full Windows OS then go build your own PC.

When PS3 priced at $600 and got poor sales so Sony had to cut the price few times to make more unprofitable.

It will take years for game developers to invest in new graphic style that add to games, also you will get old shit game that enhanced graphic (only low level AA, V-Sync, Native 1080p, high texture) that pair with PC.
 
i wont buy 720 because they are putting a program for prevent used games to play on new xbox 720. i did read it thru tom's hardware i said wtf. it sux

I doubt that MS could do it or they could lose the console business like Sega did.

Why, backward-comparability is one of keys to buy a next-generation gaming console. Microsoft should do it then pulse it out later in years like Sony and Nintendo did with their consoles.

As for Xbox 720, I'll pass that gaming console. I favor PC gaming better. I still have my gaming computer for four years and all I need is video card upgrade to run few current games I got from last year.

I've read the list of PS3 model which it can play some old games (backward compatible) and few allows you to install Linux OS as well. My PS3 is the newest (bought it two Christmases ago for my sons). It won't play PS2 games and won't let anyone install Linux OS at all. Sony have made several changes on PS3. I read that people who use PS3 as a Linux server was pissed. Because PS3 have Cellular core (6 cores) was fast.

As for new Xbox, I would rather wait till after craze are over then see what people say about Xbox issue. If more "ring of death" again then M$ did really lousy job using cheap springy CPU cooler clip.

I'm sticking with PS3...

M$ xbox live is $60 per year?. Who want to pay for online? Most PC games are free, Wii free, PSN free, etc.

My PS3 is an original 60GB fat PS3. It still runs like new to this day. PS3 has a much, much lower failure rate in comparison to the older models of Xbox 360. Someone I know had to get his Xbox 360 replaced at least 3 times in less than 6 months. He never had to replace any of the game consoles in his lifetime except for the Xbox 360. Basically, millions and millions of the older Xbox 360 models had a faulty design in how the main board was designed and fitted into the Xbox 360's casings. The heat itself caused the main board to curve and snap leading to its death.
