Alright I am getting pissed now. I just brought a new router of DL-604 since my other one dont work no more.

I checked into my son's xbox 360 and it was all confirmed that was ok to get online without having him to plug his game box into the modem just using the router.

Now I found out that the game he was trying to get in wont let him in unless he plug his game into modem instead of router. So what can that be a problem. I want to get online instead waiting for him to finish the game or get offline. I also want to get on vp but can my son plug his game into the modem. :pissed:

I m not an expert but I think all your problems would be solved with Wireless WiFi. I'll explain why I think WiFi will work. I play on 360 while my roomates are on VP and internet at same time with no problems. My 360 uses $100 usb wifi adapter while my roomies use either wifi or plug in VP/laptop.

I am not going for a wireless I rather use wired. I dont trust wireless mind you.

He can get into the game but this is the only game that he cant get into is the damn smashdown wrestling 2008

no, they can't get into your game if you set up WPA or WEP security if you know what i mean. honest with you i really want wired but ports in rear of cable modem is full so i use wireless that's why.

I'm using wired to router for Xbox 360.

It has issue with your router that should configuration so properly and just restart the router into default setting, such as left automatic DHCP on and enable on UPnP, if UPnP don't work then try use port forwarding or DMZ but port forwarding should be try at first time.

If you are connected to Xbox Live via dashboard so successfully and cannot get WWE Smackdown 2008 to get work, its from NAT issue via router that prevent from get communicate with other gamers, what's status on NAT via Xbox Live? Just take connection test and see what happen.

WEP and WPA can be cracked by hackers and other neighbors that work on internet.

If crowded of people are crack into your internet then you can get sued by ISP, that why about some people don't trust with wireless anymore.

What? Are you running a MEGA business at home so you don't trust WiFI? Setup a WEP Password etc. Otherwise you're stuck trying to fit a Square peg in a Round hole. WIFi.

No, it has nothing with mega business related, both of WEP and WPA are crackable and if others are using or abusing your network then you are in big trouble with ISP and can get sued by ISP, that's what some people don't trust with security and WiFi, please respect horselover about don't want WiFi. It's depends on ISP's policy about WiFi and some of them aren't care about it.

I"m using wireless Linksys router with WPA2 for my MacBook Pro and Wii.

It is a brand new router and it is open NAT.

Im sorry pacman, but I think its obivous her problems would be easily solved with WiFi.

I had tried on both of WiFi and Wired at past, both of them are same problem.

It actually from firewall issue on router, if your router has high firewall or double firewall then it would interfere with online game's communicate and chat with other players, same goes to VP, media center and other sharing device, it known as NAT.

Horselover. I'll be honest. My posts are opinion. Pacman knows FACTS, so I would listen to him a little more than Moi! heh heh.

I think you should turn off computer, cable modem, router, and xbox360 and unplugging the power lines and then hook up ethernets to cable modem and router. when you finish with ethernets lines hook up, then back plug the power and turn on all consoles. i hope this will work cuz i did happen when i have old Xbox black console (not xbox360) so i unplug power lines then set up and etc then back on and it's work. you try that.

Oh tell me about and tell me how do I find out about DHCP for my cable modem??

I don't know about how find DHCP feature on cable modem, I'm only have DSL modem and found that have DHCP feature after got in DSL modem's setting via 192.168.XXX.XXX

You just need call cable company and explain about what wrong with connection issue, just ask if your cable modem has DHCP feature or not, if it does then that means your cable modem has router feature built-in, that's very annoying to have router feature in DSL or cable modem because it cause more interfere with Linksys, Netgear, D-Link and other router.

I wish that all modem shouldn't have DHCP feature built-in, DSL seems more common but cable is less common except for Getaway, it cause more consumers to call tech support about issue with media sharing, online gaming, utorrent or file sharing.

I used had cable internet under Roadrunner and got love it, the cable modem from RR don't have DHCP feature built-in, just truely modem and more friendly to Linksys router.
