I want share with you about my friend… About 10 years ago, I worked with a woman. She was a very nice woman but had problems with her skins with pimples, red spots, not smooth skin, but I say nothing and still be her friend, then I left the job… She found me at www. allface. com:thumb:! As a result, I went to meet her at starbuck coffee shop yesterday. I was so shocked that she looked so beautiful and smooth skin! We chatted and she recommends to everyone to buying ANY Anti-Bacterial Bar Soap instead another regular soap bar! She used two different soaps bar that ably help her skin clearly and smooth!

Celaphil with anti bacterial soap and Cuticura soap are best!!! :D

here I found...

I always thought that anti bacterial soap was bad for skin :hmm:

Cetaphil is good for people with sensitive skin and allergies. That is one of the soaps I use.

I've heard that overusing anti-biotics in general, whether its dish soap, body soap or whatever else, is bad.

The theory is, is they also kill off the good bacteria and the anti-bodies in and on your body.

Yup! I have sensitive skin (itchy itchy) cuz my face gets dry easily. Cetaphil is good - it's gentle on my face.

correct. overusing is bad. Lot of people nowadays overuse it by "religiously" washing their hands for quite a while like surgeons for pre-ops and also frequently using the hand sanitizer

They need to get on with their life....

Its okay to do that stuff in moderation or when you have had a bad exposure to something infectious, but for the most part its not a good idea. Doing it to much can actually be a symptom of a mental illness .. Obsesive compulsive disorder, or what we would call germaphobs.

Antibiotics and antibacterials work in different ways. Antibiotics are taken internally and have a systemic reaction on the immune system. But antibacterials are topical. They simply kill surface bacteria so that the bacteria cannot get into the system. They don't alter the immune system response. However, minimal exposure to some bacteria can prevent illness in much the same way that a vaccination will prevent illness.

The hand sanitizers also kill viral agents, such as those responsible for colds. So they are useful in reducing the spread of airborne and contact viruses. However, antibiotics are not useful for viral illnesses. Using an antibacterial soap or hand sanitizer as a preventive measure doesn't really carry much risk. But overuse of antibiotics carries several risks.

but.... we're not talking about antibiotic pills. I'm talking about those people who overuse the soaps. They buy antibacterial soaps, hand sanitizers, sprays and wipes and use it obsessively (but not OCD-type).

See 3rd quote in post #7. That is why I clarified.
Antibacterial use provides more benefit than risk.

ah-ha.. I did not notice. I think jasin misspoke - meant antibacterial instead of antibiotic. am I right, jasin?

I had read the same.

I agree.

I read that anti-bacterial soap works as well as regular soap.

Anti-bacterial soap actually washes more off your skin making some people develop dry skin... which can be open to more skin damage.

I've noticed it easily when washing my hands. When I wash my hands with regular soap, my hands feel good after I dry them off. When I use anti-bacterial soap, my hands feel like rubber... too rough and too dry. :(

Thats true too! Many do develop dry skin.

Is acne family to blemish??
You asking if it's genetic?

It can be caused by a lot of things.

I know different people who have different skin types. Some have soft skin. Some have tough skin. Some have skin that tan. Some have skin that burn easily.

That's why it's usually best to try those single bars of soap to determine which soap is best for you. Some stores sell them in packs and in singles.

I've used Zest, Irish Springs, and Dial. Zest runs out really fast. Irish Springs is good. Dial is alright. When I tried Lever 2000, I stayed with it because it cleans well and lasts longer. :)
