"It's people. Soylent Green is made out of people. They're making our food out of people. Next thing they'll be breeding us like cattle for food. You've gotta tell them. You've gotta tell them!"

I saw that movie a few months ago. Heh!

What if they developed a way to allow us to clone ourselves in order to feed ourselves?

Instructions:

1.) Prick your thumb with a pin.
2.) Allow a few drops of blood to drop into clear container provided.
3.) Add a drop of chemical.
4.) Watch human meat grow.
5.) Cook meat and enjoy.

Lol, here ya go, Vampy: *Handing you a bottle of Heinz 57 Steak Sauce*.

Good grief...at the last two posts here. Hmm....

Anyhow, back to what this thread is related to, (even though, this isn't really about 'eating cloned meat--but brings up another perspective-- ;) ) I have an uncle who happened to have either the 'first' or 'one of the first' cloned dairy cow several years ago. He has one of the largest dairy farm in his state ( I will not reveal out of privacy concerns ), he took it to an auction where it was sold for 100,000 dollars. This wasn't just some 'dairy cow', this was one of the top and best breed, a dairy cow that was superior over most other dairy cows. In doing so, this brought on more dairy cows to eventually be 'cloned' for the purposes of retaining prized dairy cows, utilizing the advantage of having more than 'one' prized dairy cow for dairy production....

So, there can be a great advantage for cloning 'farm animals', whether it's for beef/meat or for dairy. As for chickens, hmm...just might be a sudden 'rise' for producing eggs--heh. But that's not what this thread is really concerned with--Therefore, if there can be great advantages for cloning farm animals, then eating its meat is and can be just as good.

Lastly, if I was at a restaurant and the waiter informs me that the 'steak' is from a cloned cow...I won't be startled, I'll just simply ask for the A-1 sauce and to leave me alone so I can enjoy my meal. :D

I think I agree with you, RR, that cloned meat consumption would be okay because, after all, cloned animals are just cloned animals. Animals selected for cloning would be prized for their (in the case of Black Anguses) excellent marbling and a carbon copy of that animal would emerge. THAT is NOT genetic engineering which is the basis for my agreement with you.

At the same time, I'd keep one eye open for problems with cloning that may arise whatever those may or may not be.....

Me too Tousi, RR was telling me about it the other day. I see where he's coming from on this and agreed.

I'm start to want be biggest rant over FDA, I think that meat companies are begged FDA to not require label it.

I'm hardcore mexican food, I just love real pure beef in taco, cloned meat isn't ACCEPTED!!!

Huh? Cloned animals produce pure beef. Do you know what a cloned animal is? I can see why the FDA will not require labeling because, from a cloned animal (not genetically altered) emerges pure 100% beef just like in the past, and most assuredly consistently the best meat if the cloned one came from prized animals. Why label something that has NOT been changed?

I don't care, I'm personally don't like cloned animal right now, I'm really cannot believe in cloned meats.

It's too early to say if people would suffer from health issue after eat cloned meats, wait and see until research has been found in near future.

I just rather to want be labelled because some people are aggressive oppose to cloned meats due personal reason or start concern with their health in future.
