Work from home for Deaf?

work at home

The reason is my friend who is a homemaker would like to work for a company but do it at home. Her youngest daughter will start school full time in the fall so she will be alone all day. She is looking for a part time job working from home. She has contacted several medical offices and they told her that she needs to be able to do phone work. :ugh3:

Hi, I have spoken to a medical clerk once, since I was looking for as medical insurance clerk or data entry at the time. I asked her if I really needed to work with phone cuz of my hearing, & she saids no, because they use a lot email instead of phone.

If you have regular phone you can get CaptionCall. I have it, what it does it types up what the person in the other line is telling you. Look it up CaptionCall.com It helps for hearing impaired as well, sometimes we can't catch what the person is saying as least we are reading what they said.
I hope this will help you. Good luck :)

TRUTH: working online is very much real and very easy to do.

FACT: unfortunately, advertising "I want to work online" does not work. There is a lot of competition online, and for some, $300-$400 bucks is month is all some need while still bringing the skills to the table.

You need to run your own business to make it work while reaching your own salary goals in this world these days.

I'd look into customer support chat jobs, but keep in mind these could also require phone work. Also, any engineering software computer work can be done from home, unless you are working with hardware.

You could be a DTP specialist, a translator, a designer, a programmer, a SEO specialist, a researcher, a copywriter, a moderator in forums and social networks, a localizer, a software tester, etc.

You *can* actually make a living out of them. Don't fall for pyramid-selling schemes, try to specialize (data entry is something anybody can do, using a technical software not).

Very few if any online jobs come with full time benefits and security....but if that's not a concern.....they're out there but not easy to come by from what I've seen.

They're mostly freelancing jobs, that's true.
But you can manage your own time, have less expenses (no working clothes, no transportation costs from/to the workplace, etc)

My brother is deaf. He goes to college now. I invested in a lot of programs to find something he can really do from home. I currently have 20 deaf people and 16 hearing in my downline since Aug 1st. I encourage everyone who interested in home based business. Any question, fire away :)

Self-employed working from home does have benefits

I am now an independent contractor and I love it. You will need to find jobs that you can do at home that involves reading and editing on a computer. They have a website that you can do some writing, although, small amount, but it gets better with more improvement. A lot of websites wants some writing articles if you like writing.I had to work very hard to brainstorm ideas how to make the most of it. Look into your town, and look around you what you see, what do people truly want for a pay amount. I know it is hard. Being an independent contractor, no one is telling me what to do. I set the hours between my client and myself because I have a young son to look after, so I cant commit my time to a company who only wants me to work certain hours or work on weekends, I am unable to do that. I am still fairly new in my self-employment field, but I am taking classes to expand my business profits in the future. Like I said, it is hard at first, but if you dont give up and keep on trying, it will be worth it in the long run. I wish you good luck. Feel free to ask me any questions. Snowavalanche

Hey everyone. A friend of mine is a full time student and doesn’t have transportation. He lives close enough to the college that he can walk. He needs some income though and is having trouble finding a job. Especially given the transportation issue. Do any of you know of jobs that can be done from home via the internet that are reputable? Any that you may already be using yourselves? I don't want any schemes or bad places. I have tried to look for him but so many require you talking on the phone like customer service, and since he is Deaf this is not a possibility. Any help would be much appreciated!:fingersx:

DTP translator, researcher, SEO Specialist, etc

If you know there are easy jobs that deaf people can do. Can you at least provide more details how to get some training before they become a copywriter, DTP translator, etc.. You mean these deaf people can do it without using their hearing?

How long have you been working in this home-based business?

If you paid the kit, so now we all want to know if you are getting paid yet?

the website can't open it, so show deaf people how to find that job if you found one.

I tried to click on the link, it didnt work.

I would appreciate your input on this

what website onlines do you find that are worth researching in without a scam reputation? Can you do that? If you found some, let me know. What are the links, thank you

Nice idea! well thought out plan

The best way is to research the companies first, and how much of a reputation they have and how long it has been around, every state is different.

My best friend found a job working from home. It was a fluke. She is working for a funeral home doing records. Changing their records dating back several decades and filing them electronically. Sometimes, instead of looking for ads saying "Work from home", contact different companies and ask them if they are looking for someone to do work for them from their home. I would suggest look for a company that has been around for several decades because most likely they would have old files that they would like to become electronic instead of paper.

How about being a deaf Mystery Shopping , you get paid to eat or shop at businesses and write a report of how bad or good the service of food was.
I know someone that did this until they could get a better job. And being deaf my help you get hired fasting than a hearing person .

work from home

We have a local mag that you can advertise in for about £20. I find offering dog walking service or cleaning/gardening brings in some cash. You may be able to do some personal assistance work for disabled person as some of my friends do this and it helps out. If you can build websites, build your own to offer this skill as a service. Otherwise if you can buy things in bulk or as return stock from recognised brands or shops and then sell them via an on line shop this can get you some funds. Remember to factor in selling fees and postage as you can get burnt if you don't. Good Luck

What about working for a business but do the work for them at home? Any opportunities for deaf people in doing that?

You could check out or Try 'Deaf World - my fun life' in FB - they just open yesterday but I hear they are champs ( better than Amway and or MLM ) Only $25 to join. Good Luck
