Woman Faces $1,000 Fine For Pink Poodle

I just thought the dog was soooo cute!!! :) I don't think we have any laws here in my state but I never thought it was illegal. If its illegal in her state then its illegal. but the dog is cute!

excalty that what i talk abt it..

Bleach DOES have the potential to harm a dog. Beet juice, on the other hand, might taste a little on the foul side, but it's not HARMFUL or ABUSIVE in any way.

It's insane that they chase after her for such a minor thing, when there are countless people beating and abusing animals. Why target someone who is taking good care of their pets?

Because it's considered animal cruelty. How would you like it if someone dyed hair blue ?

Plus she was warned before and continued to disregard the law. Therefore she deserves it.

many million owner pets never let have dyes pets any types for good reasons but i would agree with posts.

im sure cat and dogs MUST using collars to support cancers like breast, whatsoevers not on pets!

Your avatar of your dog is cute!

Can I borrow your dog and dye it purple? :)

Agree! Or wear doggie t-shirts that say something like, "BOW WOW Against Breast Cancer."

Pretty in pink!! I know a friend who used a Kool-aid to dye her hair purple and blue. The grooming companies use them all the time for competitions. The city code needs to be revised and updated. Good Luck to Joy and Cici. :fingersx:

It will be interesting to see what the ASPCA and Humane Society has to say about this.....

Look out, here comes PETA!

And to address the issue of animal cruelty....has it been shown that the dog was harmed in any way? She would have had to cause the dog physical injury to be guilty of animal cruelty. I don't imagine the dog gives a damn whether it is pink, purple, or white as long as it is fed and cared for.

I think they fined her, because pets have no POWER, no VOICE, and NO DECISION MAKING. They are not like "ARF ARF I WANT DYE ON MY HAIR PLEASE" or something like that. I think animal should leave it naturally, no dye, no additional colors, or something to make dog looks different. If you think pink dog is ok, that means I can bleach my black dog into blonde?

What about declaw, devoicing, ear & tail docking ? They are legal in America and Canada but not dye with organic product on pets?

It would be different story if she use chemical product to dye her dog but she only use organic product which is a harmless.

I still think nothing wrong to use organic product to dye the pets but I personally prefer to wear pink pet collar to support breast cancer instead of dye on my pet. IMO.

Something like that.

Of course, most human's hair dye are non-organic, that contains chemical and bleach on it, that much worse than organic dye, I used had full hair dye and feel so sticky after wash it out then I hate it and decided to not dye anymore.

I feel bad for woman about got $1,000 fine for dye her dog, if dye contain organic then it's not harm to pets or animals, that's right.

I hope that she will win the lawsuit.

Yes, I agree with you over the difference between chemical an organic. Yes I feel bad for her, too and hope the judge will give her right because use organic product is a harmless.

i dont think this is animal abuse and also u say many teenagers dye from chemical so what about adults can get 1,000 fine??? i dont think so cuz of teenagers and adults get same thing dye hair.. what different??

Yes I agree that it's not animal abuse to use organic product to color their pets.

I compared the pet owner with the parents who allows to dye their pets and children's hair. The pet owner have to pay fine $1,000 because it's animal abuse to law's eye but what about children? *scratch my head* For law - dye animal with organic product is an animal abuse and not child abuse if the parents dye their children's hair... ???

*nodding agreement*

Actually, humans respond to dye differently than animals.

Animals have full-body hair while humans only have it on top of their heads.

It is also discouraged for pregnant women to dye their hair... kinda like getting a tattoo while a woman is pregnant. There are always risks, but animals are at greater risk.

I would understand if they use chemical product but use organic product is a harmless.

Hair is Hair, no matter what...
