As some of you know I just got a new laptop. My laptop before was nearly 3 years old and had windows vista on it. I didn't seem to have as many problems before as I do now with vista. Things with asking permission or for admin permission to download or do certain things. Programs I had before that I have no aren't downloading the right drivers and such.. Its so annoying, I hate VISTA!

Has it really changed that much in the last 2/2.5 years??? Its driving me insane!

Candy, candy, candy ....

There is nothing wrong with Vista itself. I have Vista Ultimate SP2 on both the workstation (32-bit) and laptop (64-bit), and it ran just fine.

If you really want to, you can disable UAC, though I wouldn't recommend that.

Hi Candy, I have Vista too as I just bought a brand-new laptop. At first I didn't care for it, but after using it for several days I got the hang of it and now it doesn't bother me anymore. I suspect you will feel the same after using it for a bit.

I have used Vista for more than 2 years. My problem is the Vista on this laptop is causing issues I never had with my old laptop that also had Vista on it. I'm downloading the programs I had before and I am getting tons of errors and things like that. I didn't mind Vista before, it just seems that there have been updates to Vista that I didn't have before causing the problems and issues.

It's probably because of the settings on your computer.

Are you using the administrator account or an account with administrator privileges?

Do you have settings that state that you can do whatever you want without worry of getting permission?

The reason why those features are put in is because of the problems people have had in the past. Not everyone had that problem, but those who did have that problem... need this feature.

For instance, you could have a roommate who has a downloading addiction. There are people like that, they download everything they see cuz they are easily intrigued by them. I had that problem when I was working in the computer lab at RIT. Sometimes, I wish those computers had Vista installed instead so that those people would stop downloading and installing these crappy programs.

Oh, ugh, it already happen on random PC and you can reformat and re-install new OS if see works.

Just disable User Account Control, like I did on Vista before and Windows 7 has more feature on User Account Control, such as choice of security level.

well, im been using on Windows xp professional. I have nothing with problem for 5 years ago.
