If you modified and it crashed....you abused. :D

It's just like a car....take a good care of it...it'll last very long time.

Abuse it.....it'll be found on the road waiting for a tow truck.

Har har hardy de har har! :P I do know that I take special care when using my computer -- I know it's a sensitive system and it DOES crash for little to no reasons. I guess it depends on where you got the computer from and how it was assembled, etc.

And what you run on it.

There's no perfect programmers. :D

Imagine if Windows was open sourced...and me as a programmer..I might decent a small problem and submit a fix for it...that would help people like you to have a smooth running system.

But no....Microsoft wants more money and barely care about home users with a buggy system.

Are you sure Linux and BSD are free? How can they keep their business up?

There is no such a "free lunch"!
One of the servers here that I am running on Red Hat 9.0. It is free. Sure, there are a lot of free softwares but basic w/o customer support, manuals, etc.

My personal experience, I am using Linux for server purpose, Windows XP for personal/work. MAC for my kids to play. :D
