Why is it so important to get marry and procreate?

:giggle:...That old TV show..."Married....with Children".....:giggle:..one of my favorites...What was the redhead's name?...And Ed was one funny character!

And my oldest son had a girlfriend that did absolutely "nothing"....the apartment was always so dirty and smelly!..And it really confused me, as my son always had clean clothes to wear, home cooked food, etc. ....But I never said anything about it...kept my mouth zipped...and sure enuf', he got tired of it rather quickly!....Now that he's dating someone else, and her apartment is clean...he feels so much better, and of course looks better.

Katy Seigel was the gal that played Al Bundy's wife Peggy.. She later starred on other shows like 8 rules for simple teenagers or so...

Anyways I am hoping to be patient and land a gal who is caring, loving and got a good sense of humor.. ahh oh well lol what can I do?? keep working and keeping everything all straight and clean...

Man. I just left from my momma's home...
I was like "YAY, no more doing dishes, taking out garbage, and dusting for momma, I'm free"

Now, THERE is a part of me that has relished this kind of life that you have had. I've never married either, though I was looking to do so after college. It never worked out that way. I can do whatever I want and when I want, within common-sense and financial limits. I don't have to ask anybody anything. I don't have to check with roommates. Though I love animals, I don't have pets, either. I just want to get up and go to Ohio or Utah anytime I want to have time off from work.

What, she did not miss a point. I am FREE to do what I want, that's the thing. Pat, do you like to go camping? I'm in either Texas or Ohio, depending on the time of the year. And no, I'm not asking for a date, since I don't know anything about y... Hey wait a minute, why was Pat banned? I just now noticed that...

dunno -- she has 13 posts , and only one showing in her profile.

This from Wm. Booth, founder of the Salvation Army: "How many, alas ! haves I known who would, after a little experience, have given their right hands to have the Marriage knot untied, and to be free once more. But they found that to be impossible ! They had made their bed, dreaming it was to be one of roses. They had to wake up out of their dream to find it a couch of thorns !"

I'm just wondering if you at least clean up after yourself, you seem very hung up on housework. That has to be done whether you're single or married or married with children.

Not hung up on it. In fact, I do house work several times a week because I can't stand to let things slide. I'm a VERY organized person. Everything has a place, and I'd rather put it in its place rather than drop it somewhere and then later put it in its place. Do it right, and you don't have to do it again. See, money and time... If you have a lot of money, you'll spend it to save time. If you have a lot of time, but not a lot of money, you'll spend the time to save money. I also do all my foundation garments and accidents on my clothes by hand and have drying racks for them. I soak my chick peas, lentils, mung beans to sprout to save on canned food. It is a lot of work, but I have the time and a goal to GET OUT OF Houston as soon as I can.

I realize that this was directed at the OP, but it felt like it was directed at me as well after the fact.

And Robin, the thing I HATE is going to a person's house, and it is not kept at all. I don't want to be there! I don't want to touch anything, don't want to go to the bathroom, ad nauseam! I do extra cleaning when guests are arriving.

I am a guy that has had good paying jobs and watched them go away for one reason or another, mostly having to do with my inexplicable inability to take a whole lot of bs. The times I did keep jobs it was because I worked harder than most and brought a high skill level to the job. The physical and mental drain was huge and my time off from work was mostly in the form of recovery.
This to me was a key factor in avoiding marriage and children even though I wanted those things. I did not see myself as having the skills, abilities, financial stability, and energy that successful marriage and parenthood requires.
This put me on the road of freedom. Freedom can be mighty good. No one tells me what to do, if they do it is not for very lonng. I am very appreciative and lucky too. Ancestors took big chances to create the foundation for me to have this level of freedom. The part that is deeply troubling to me is how little I have accomplished in life. I look at people who have successfully raised productive hardworking families as success stories of the highest order. Usually these people have accomplished a lot of good in their worklife as well.
This is me and I chose my way and I have no complaints. No one asked to be here we are just kind of zapped in to wherever we get zapped in. I am not real sure it is a kindness to zap someone into this life but once we are here it is sure real while it is happening.

erm ,...what if Pat is Really untidy...

I am am a woman who is happy to have children and a husband, but I can understand why some women would choose not to. Now days I think its more acceptable, where in the past, not so much. I would imagine if having no spouse or children is the path a woman chooses, that the woman would come across other people in her life who make her feel as if she isn't doing her "duty", so to speak, as a "woman." However, I applaud any women who chose their path and don't conform to what society deems acceptable. So keep on keeping on :)

Wirelessly posted

Keeping your place clean is common sense to some people. I don't mind cleaning my home as a single or married person. I would love to be a wife :)

It is not important to get married and procreate.

It IS important to get married if you plan to procreate.

It IS important to love, and be loved, and feel loved.

I raised my daughter since she was 3 now going on 20, a beautiful woman she turned out to be.
Now I am a stay at home dad since 2010 when my son was born, due to my injuries I cannot work and bring home the bacon so now I care for my son and keep the house.

Cute kid.

I want kids but I don't want to get married, ever. I can have kids without getting married, anyway. And I will.

Man. I just left from my momma's home...
I was like "YAY, no more doing dishes, taking out garbage, and dusting for momma, I'm free"

Then I came to college.... and less than a year... a man already
come to my life... "Work hard for me"
I was like "WTF!"

I just got here.... I'm FREEE!!!!

I can explore and go do aventure...

Not....

go from Momma's Home to college from college to somebody housewife...

I ain't staying at home, doing somebody else' dishes...

Noooo no no no....

I don't understand why people have to do that....

especially women have to give up their college to be a wife....

That is what my mom did... she quit college and married my dad... and have 2 kids... still live in a poor house...
My stupid daddy can't hold on to a job...

I don't wanna be like my mom.

So what I did was....

left momma's home
tell men to go away.... nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
then graduated from colleges
and take cruises at Hawaii and Alaska... went to Paris by myself...
I had FUN!!!!!

Now I am 42 years old... still not married.
I think life is great without have to get married right after high school and immediately have kids... THAT IS SOOO WRONG!!! THAT isn't LIFE at all!!!

I don't understand why women waste so much time being at a nightclub, looking sexy, to try to find a husband...

Ugh.... that is sooo stupid.

I rather have a LIFE!!! go out and have fun!!! Not stay at home with a bunch of kids and listen to nagging unsatisfied husband.

you can have both
