I wonder because many people drive cars with turbocharged engine. You see, if the person wasn't deaf, the police would simply tell the person to be more careful. You know if your car is turbocharged, we'll be watching you. Don't speed.
My point is that not many cops know how to fingerspell let alone use ASL. I imagine that people would get upset having to fingerspell "turbocharged" especially if they don't know the alphabets.
If someone had a Volvo 850 turbo or Saab 900 turbo, would it be a good idea for cop to get the driver out. Point to word "turbo" on side or rear of vehicle. You know, shake your head and point to "turbo". Just to let deaf people know that turbo are not good thing to have on road.
The problem is what if a vehicle is so old that the word "turbo" has fallen off the vehicle? How would cop be able to point to "turbo" to explain to the person that turbo is not a good thing to have on the road?
Is it a good idea to keep the turbo decal on your vehicle? That way, if you're stopped, cop would have something to point at.
If there is no turbo decals on the vehicle, can a cop tell you to open the hood? Cop would point to the turbo lettering on your engine to let you know that turbo is not accepted.
