My computer keep on configuring and it crazy me nut! I will be in the middle of doing something on line or reading something I find very interesting and the computer will just shut down! And it will starting configuring . it there are way to to get rid of this! I will have an email already to send and before I spell check it it gone!

What exactly do you mean by that?

What do you see? Can you describe it?

I think that a hacker successfully hacked and installed a nasty tiny program in your computer from internet. Next time, you would need to get an antivirus program and a firewall program. That's all I know of.

By the way, does it has to do with the autoexec.bat? I don't remember the spelling for IBM PC because I had an IBM PC long time ago and now I use Apple computer.

It went blank then all these tiny white boxes that look like paper filled the whole window up! I had trouble shuting my computer off!

Oh interesting. Perhaps, the only way is to unplug your computer for five minutes to clear up the memory. I hope that it works.

If it is still the same, then I am not sure that sounds right or not. I would remove the computer's battery for a few minutes. It will lose the date on your computer so you correct the time when your computer is on. Make sure that your computer is unplug first and then take the battery out.

At last, if it is still the same, then perhaps it has to do with the autobat.exe or something else in the program. Just ask VamPyroX about it.

It doesn't sound like a hacker/virus. Sounds like Microsoft Windows update service.

Windows can automatically download updates. After it downloads the update files, a window will open to tell you to restart your computer. If you don't want to restart while you are in the middle of doing something, then drag the window to the bottom on the screen.

Once you restart or shutdown your computer, Windows will install the updates. You should let Windows install the updates.

Like Omegaman said, it is an automated windows update service which updates the Operating System to make sure it runs OK. That's normal. There is no option to switch it off as it is automatic. Only that you CAN delay it.

Oh, are you using dail-up? it's risky to hack in or did you went to unknown website that "fly-by downloads" without any knows. I recommend use firefox browser it's safe than IE browser.

I repeat, my message - it is not a virus, it is updating your computer, there is nothing to worry about.

Thanks guys! I had no idea if this was a hacker or part of an up date ! I am not able to stop it as my computer shut down so fast and it taken over !
I am not that good with computers ! I still have a lot more to learn about them!!! I found another blog called Thehelper.net and someone else posted they were having the same thing happen to their computer! I found this after
I posted it here!

Nothing to worry there, whatdidyousay, it is just a normal update, just let the computer do it, and while you wait, read a book, it will be over in few minutes.
