why did many gallaudet students do not care when someone had emergency or incident?

And I noticed that Nat is a *flamer* as Nat doesn't come back onto the boards to answer our questions....

nat84 had 42 posts since started

37 of them were thread starter as Why, Where, Who, When, How...

I think we need to consider to do something with Nat84's thread starter.

Not worth to ask student that need ride to the ER or something.
Why not call campus police/security, Nurse and dorm's RA (Resident Assistant) at gally. They will do give you ride to the hospital.

Most people has less than 10 best friends at Gally or NTID. You can't have +100 best friends at Gally or NTID.

- Big different between NTID/RIT and Gally campus.
- scare to go outside from Gally campus at night time vs Rochester is safe place.
- bad traffic/parking in DC - not like Rochester, NY
- confuse which near hospital at DC. We know where is Strong Hospital in Rochester.

in bold words, many students always avoid ask S/RA to call DPS to call ambualnce since could be their fault or avoid filling incident report, just ask us for hospital map...

for hospital closer to Gallaudet is Howard University Hospital, their service sucks but they got great kit of rape crisis, once that person got rape and would be automatically sent to HUH...

Yup, that's so unbelieve about sunshinelady thought students or everyone need get car to around, now, it's not cheap to own car due high gas price and high insurance rate, especially for under 25.

Gally students can go to Six Flags in PGC (Prince George County) without car, just ride on train then transfer to bus to Six Flags in PGC.

FYI, around 1.5 to 2 hours to get there by Metro Subway/Bus

Right.

I used to work as RA at one of the dorm halls on the Gally campus and I did it several times.

Whenever the incident which requires the attention of campus police and D.C. Paramedics, they will be called to come to attend and take care of it.

RH are required to open 24/7 during school year, so if need anything, see us (S/RA, GA, and etc)

yea, opened like 1999 or something that

Actually the theme park has been there since 1981! It used to be called Wild World. Then in 1993 they changed the name to Adventure world. In 1999 it became Six Flags. But it has been there for 27 years. I remember going when I was a very little kid, maybe about 1987. :)

I am very well aware of their opening hours and my duties as RA. At one time I had to leave the class early to take care of the situation at Peet Hall. :eek3:

During my time as Gally student, the closest hospital was Capitol Hill Hospital just down on 8th Avenue NE from the Gally gate. Their services were decent but it had to be closed down due to budget cuts.

Speaking of rapes at colleges and universities, 6 out of them are not reported to the proper authorities like RAs and campus police.

During my time as RA, three or four rape attempts were reported to the DOSS (later DPS) and CRE thru me and I had to stop one of them.

Fortunately he understood it. My class was in MLC which was a very short walk to Peet Hall. One resident waved frantically to get my attention and I acknowledged immediately something was happening there.

BTW I passed that course with B+. :)
