Why are some happy and some miserable ?

Personally I am looking forward to being able to go and buy legal marijuana. I have gone too many years without being able to do the equivalent of a glass of wine to relax and enhance an occasion to move on from the grinding cares of responsibility and just be in the now. Not all of us tolerate alcohol. It is beyond unfair to me that millions of people get to legally just kick back and have a beer and say, " yeah what about that ball game?", while I am still in alert mode uptight with the howling dogs of yesterday and tomorrow ripping chunks out of my backside.

I argued with a woman 9 years ago. She claimed that deaf ferrets can't learn ASL. I told her to try. Many friends were divided on who to believe. Some of them said to accept the fact that deaf ferrets can't use ASL. I hope that some day deaf ferrets would get together with other deaf ferrets and use ASL. Is it possible?

Deaf ferrets have tiny arms and hands. In my experience, they usually just do a weasel war dance and run away if you try to engage them in language learning.

I think ferrets are independent and like to make up their own minds on what to do and feel.

In fact, I notice many deaf and hearing ferrets alike tend to bite when someone is so persistent about insisting they have positive emotions all the time.

I admire ferrets...

Maybe ferrets already have their sign language and bow we got to understand it

I dated a women about 9 years ago with a deaf very old male ferret, whew, smelly ferret. I suspected it could not see real good either. It looked pretty happy when she was handling it. The rest of the time not so much.
I did not have to tell her about the time I ate a porcupine to get dumped. Just my natural charm did the trick.

A deaf old male ferret that maybe can't see to good does not need ASL to tell a loving human woman how much he loves her

Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine.

I got to thinking one day about all those people on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. From then on, I've tried to be a little more flexible.

How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn't suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed? Does the word 'refrigeration' mean nothing to you?

How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched ' Jeopardy ' on television?

I cannot count the times I called my sister and said , 'How about going to lunch in a half hour?' She would gas up and stammer, 'I can't. I have clothes on the line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late breakfast, It looks like rain' And my personal favorite: 'It's Monday.' She died a few days ago. We never did have lunch together.

Because we cram so much into our lives, we tend to schedule our headaches.. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect!

We'll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained. We'll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet. We'll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.

Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of 'I'm going to,' 'I plan on,' and 'Someday, when things are settled down a bit.'

When anyone calls my 'seize the moment' friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you're ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Rollerblades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.

My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It's just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process. The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.

Now....go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to...not something on your SHOULD DO list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting? I had a friend from high school that I was always going to call and never did. The other day her name was in the obituaries so we never had that chat.

Make sure you read this to the end; you will understand why I sent this to you.

Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground? Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night? Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask, 'How are you?' Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head? Ever told your child, 'We'll do it tomorrow.' and in your haste, not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die? Just call to say 'Hi'?

When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift....Thrown away.... Life is not a race. Take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.

You are way out of line on those comments. You are not deaf at all. You are hearing 100%. **shaking my head** :(

it the human condition...
the thoughs and saying of john lennon if read them the man had a lot of perspevtive

As I understand my "user name" what we tell ourselves re: am I "disabled/helpless" is what "motivates' us in how we "deal with whatever" in our lives.

I Had dreadful childhood mother bitch from hell,my revenge make sure my kids had happy one...Life what you make it even now I get rage think what happened but you ruin your life if dwell on it all the time

Not only that he was right. One of the ones that had a voice.... and caught a bullet. Peace is a dangerous thing. Our economic world would collapse if all the violence stopped. Then guess what? We would all do just fine. It would be different at first all looking around in shock as the long wild violent juggernaut of Cro Magnon carnage stopped.... The rich would be poor and the poor would be rich because none of that crap would mean a damn thing.

To the people who think I'm not deaf trainman

If you ever lived in Toronto Ontario and you had hearing problems.

To get compo in Ontario you have to go to hospital for them to check you out.

Tests at Mount Sinai Hospital and Sunnybrook Hospital they said I could not hear anything so there ya go my friends. I'm all deaf.

End of story.

The old saying is never judge a book by its cover.

I try to be positive at all times or I will end up in crazy house if you are negative all the time that is no good.

Sure we have our ups and downs in life like everyone else thats life.

A born again believer in the human race no matter what colour or nationality the person is.

I do feel sorry for the hearing people who do not understand the deaf people and there needs to survive life.

ASL for the young to learn it is great but for the old seniors it is hard to learn so many signs and unless you have someone to do it with.

Laugh, Chuckle, Giggle.

Eg. Starting near the corners of the mouth, move both index fingers upward over the cheeks a few times. Assume an appropriate facial expression.

Note: Compare smile.

Memory Aid: Suggests the upturned mouth.

Well there ya go

Trainman thats all I have to say (At the moment).

Whos cares anymore anyway.

Is it normal for cats to be selective on whom they bite and who they don't bite ?

Cats tend to be hostile to bossy people I think.

Cats do better if people interact with them at the cat's initiative.

When people try to take over and tell them how to feel and behave, cats become hostile.

Cats are intuitive too, and quickly are disgusted when they perceive dissemination .

A funny happy time when I was much younger. When working construction in the big city here I would have to get up way early to drive in and work like a hyperactive pack mule all day. I would stop and visit my best old friend for my whole life on the way home. His kids were all little then. I would kind of end up laid out on the living room or kitchen floor wiped out in exhaustion and pain. The kids would want to wrassle a little then I would fall asleep for a few minutes and wake up with the cat sleeping on my chest. Sneezing I am allergic to cats. They know it... smiles. Funny I look back I was like a big cat. We were all young and laughing all the time then.

Dogs like Cats

love a dog and love a cat .
Most famous words.

Dogs love to chase Cats .Cats love chase mice and mice loves cheese.

So who is the winner?

The mice is, it gets the cheese.

That is how I felt like that and I am like a cat when I get hostile (upset). Grrrr. :(
